I abandoned the ARB deflator and switched to the Staun Automatic Tire Deflators:

Staun Automatic Tire Deflators (Standard Duty 6-30 PSI)

The amount of damage those rock rings have taken is heavy, and never once has it caused any valve damage. I'd be worried to open up the rings more and risk valve damage.

Or, use it as an excuse to upgrade I've had my eye on this product for a while

INDEFLATE FOUR HOSE UNIT

@Ratchey this is a pragmatic, reasonable, and low-cost solution at six dollars. @DPA200 @TheGrrrrr @Tommy Dwyer : The Indeflate looks awesome, and seriously compromises my pragmatic, reasonable, and low-cost intuitions. Much obliged, all.

Update: acquired InDeflate. Never going back.

What Gaijin said.
Good news is… There is a huuuge quality & longevity improvement with the new version vs the old. Look better to begin with and keep looking good much much linger. Believe me…I’ve passed along almost a dozen sets of RW now, and the new new cap is great. Had a very hard time finding them recently, but got help from Cody on here.

The little security ring seems to work well on the new ones too. At some point during my LCDC trip, both front caps were pry’d on pretty good and held. The face nearly pulled off, but they didn’t. Not sure how/when it happened but I had the tires rotated and balanced right before I left and I removed/replaced the caps myself so they wouldn’t break them. Noticed the issue on Friday. I’m sure Ouray isn’t immune from tweakers stealing stuff and there appeared to be a ‘high traffic’ home directly across the street from my hotel, so who knows. Anyway, they held.

Anyone have a lead on new caps? I’m not looking at paying $285 each on eBay. For that price, I may end up 3D printing replacements. Anyone have any luck?

Unfortunately no. I think they’ve been listed as no longer available on most major Toyota part websites for going on a couple of years now. Short of getting lucky and finding some on a shelf, I think most that have them now are going to charge an arm and a leg.

Does anyone have two center caps they’d be willing to part with? Discount tire lost one and broke a second of my center caps.
