Today my wife marched with her VFW in the longest running 4th of July parade in the United States in Springfield, NY and I did fund raising by selling branch of service bracelets for my American Legion in Cooperstown, NY. Crowds were the biggest we have ever seen--ever. Don't believe the media's half-cocked notion that pride in our county is waning! God bless us and God bless those who aspire to be us.

Would Love bracelet. And yes there is a lot more Pride in this country than most think. And if no one else will say it I will. It will be much better after November.

Whenever you need a reminder, go anywhere in the world, for any length of time, you'll re-learn just how good this country is.. God Bless the USA... I love my country, suspicious of my government, and no longer view the media and politicians as serving the interests of the majority of the people.. But like BobM said above, November brings hope.. Enjoy the celebration of Independence...

Looked at the picture of my grandfather in his WWI uniform on my office wall today. Thought of my father-in-law piloting B-29s over Japan from Saipan and my uncle who earned a Bronze Star in the Battle of the Bulge. Classmates whose names I traced with my fingers on a rainy midnight at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington. And my brother, who did alternative service as a objector to the Vietnam War. All brave in different ways. All honoring the spirit of the day in their own ways.
