Hey Guys

I'm hosting a HAMOM at my place this Sat.
Plan is to put a OME lift on my FJC & one on Brian's 80.

I'm also wanting to do some minor PM (fluids).

I have most all I need for my lift (not sure what an 80 lift entails but prob not that different) - if we want to hit both at the same time we'll need a 2nd set of wrenchs or an air splitter plus tools/sockets.
An extra set of Jack Stands or two would be cool too.

Plan is to get going around 10 and wrap up that afternoon. I'll prob cook up some burgers/dogs for those still around.

Post up if you can make it so we can plan the grub accordingly.

Ordered the shocks today. I need to pick up a set of heavy duty stands, and start PB'ing the shock bolts...

I have a prior commitment from 11am - 3pm in Raleigh, but I may be able to stop by either early or most likely at the end to help break something. :)

Sorry Fellas, I'll be down at The Big Rock in Moorehead City. Hope it goes smooth and easy!

Before/after pics are a must!

Garrett and i will be there. I have a air splitter and jack stands and some tools i will bring. make sure you put some pb buster on the bolts the day before.

see you then.

Cool guys! Looking forward to getting together!
Weather looks like it's going to be nice.

I also don't have a floor Jack (just the factory one) that would be sweet too! I'll get one one day but my shed/man cave is maxed out as is!

Bring a lawn chair with you as well...

Eric - I only have one air hose, so 2nd would be needed to make it complete!
See everyone on Sat!

I am not going to make this one guys I'll be in FL. fishing the blue water.

Brian if you need those spring compressors let me know.

I think I'm just going to put it up on stands, take the tires off, and jack up the side until the spring falls out. Unless it's not as easy as that...

Not sure if I'll be able to make it. This is the only weekend between GSMTR and the 4Runner Jamboree, so I've gotta check the 4Runner over, fix a couple of minor things, and do some work around the house this weekend. Not looking forward to mowing the lawn in the heat, but it's gotta be done. If things go well, I may be able to swing by later in the day.

it's just that easy :)

I will say that using a spring compressor made putting the OME J springs much easier. Yet, it's my only experience with an 80's suspension. Spring compressors are necessary for the FJC unless the front coilovers are put together, but I'm sure that's stating the obvious.

Brian - are you doing bushings also (as in castor correction)?

I hate to say I'm on the fence also. I'll be a last minute addition so don't plan lunch for me. If anything, I'll be in the mid-morning crowd although things are never certain around here...

My fronts are already assembled...skipping the spring compressor this time!

Glancing through some 80 threads some guys call for a pickle fork or tie rod/ball joint lifter for the steering stabilizer...I haven't read the install close enough - but don't have that either if needed.

I have a pickle fork, but can't make it Sat. If nobody else does, you're welcome to swing by and grab it. I definitely needed the spring comp. when swapping the Heavies for the Meds on Emma's ride.

I've got a pickle fork, but wasn't changing the steering stabilizer. I didn't think that needed to be changed when doing a lift. Is the geometry that different to warrant a new stabilizer?

Then I might hit someone up for some spring compressors, as a just in case...

Nope. I had planned for the blue bushings (thought about the plates also), but hadn't ordered them yet. Nor the brakelines. If these are absolute necessary items for daily driving, then I may be out for this weekend. I definitely was going to do them before some wheeling, though.

I don't know that it's "necessary", I guess that all depends on the springs/lift...

Well I've got Ramon's old 863's for the rear, and new 850J's for the front. I've got the 73L and 74L's to go in. I hope it gives it a level stance, and the shocks are correct. From what I read in the forums, it seems correct.
