Well I don't have any tire spoons, so that's an advantage right there. If I bring my pits can we get them mounted up on the new wheels? I'll bring more $$ to continue chipping away at what I'm paying you for all these parts.

Those pictures are awesome:D You are rocking the snuggie well:grinpimp:

Yes we can.

Did I screw up..... thought I ordered some new brake lines for the 40. This is what iron pig finally sent me after some shipping issues. Thanks

Um i'd say screw up unless a 60 and 40 have the same lines.

Johnny, are you going to sell your old tires?? If so I may know someone who wants them.

Depends on what you're using them for. Are they supposed to be the axle to frame lines or something else?

I'm running a "FJ40" extended brake line in the rear of my 60 and it works great. As long as the flare is the same depth and pitch between the new and old lines, you're good to go.

Yes I am, no need for a second set. I'll sell them as soon as I get the new ones on, which looks to be Oct 29th. You want them?

They're 35x12.5r15 old style Goodyear MTRs. Had them on for 1.75 years and have less than 8k total street miles. They have some good wear from the trails though, a bit of chunking, some rash, but hold air and still ride well on the road.

$300? $400? $500? I have no idea what's fair for these tires.

I thought they were supposed to go from the axle to the caliper. They r supposed to be longer I thought. Im an idiot when it comes to this stuff.

Thanks Al!

There are three soft lines for the front axle. One from the elbow on the frame to the axle and one from the hard line to the elbow on the backing plate on each side. A short hard line then runs from the elbow to the caliper. That short of a line looks to be the latter, so you are correct. I am not sure if that line is the same on a 40 as my 60 but it might be. What year is your 40?

Check MAF to see if your year corresponds to a 60 line. It's possible that the only difference is the length of the line. Take a close up shot of both ends of the line and I'll do my best to find out for you.
Stainless Steel Braided DOT Brake Lines

What I did on my 60 is I cut off the brake backing plates and ran a single soft line from the hard line on the axle to the caliper, NAPA part #38881. Cheap part and works perfectly. Added bonus, when you rebuild your front end or need to remove your caliper for any reason, the longer soft line allows you to take the caliper and set it on the spring instead of taking the line off, eliminating the need to bleed the brakes. The NAPA line is cheaper and more readily available than the stock Toyota equipment.
Here is a link to the post where I cut the backing plate and used that NAPA line I used:
