Anybody interested in turning some wrenches and getting a 78 FJ40 Back on the road? Darin (http://canuckscruisers.com/ ) has graciously donating his shop space. The shop is located in Raeford (Fayetteville).

The plan is to rebuild front and rear axles. Re-do the brakes in the process. Who knows what else. I will provide burgers/dogs and all the fixings.

Anybody interested in helping out? Thank you in advance :grinpimp:

Oh, crap that might be the same weekend as my halloween party

You guys can come out work get dirty and greasey then go the party as toyota grease monkeys? Or a toyota grease yeti for al!

Strange in a good way? Or weird way? My mom ordered several shirts for me and for some reason after I washed that one didn't fit. I thought it was fitting for business.

Really? With 2 diesel f250 I have plenty of that. I will be starting a new thread to update everyone on my progress maybe even a video of it running?????

I would love to be there, maybe even get some prep work done on the body that will soon grace my rig:D

How are every ones brake skills? Going to try to get all the brake lines installed. Anything that you guys recomned be replaced?

replace anything that needs replaced. :)

if any of you soft lines are blistering or have a split, you might want to look at replacing them.

I will look at em this week. I how do I tell if my master cylinder and brake booster are still good? I believe they are.

Brakes are easy, I built the brake system on my 60.

Whatever you need done, I'm sure the bunch of us that will be there will be able to figure it out.

Rigid brake lines are easy, some are still available from Mr. Yota, some of the 60 series lines will work on your 40s axles with a little bending. You can also pull the lines and have a shop make you some new ones, you'll already have the fittings on your old lines, cut, bend and double flare and you'll be in business. I got the braided stainless lines to go from axle to caliper, a little spendy but nice upgrade. :grinpimp:

I'll try and make it to the HAMOM, but with the new bambina in da' house I may have my hands full;)
