Half-Rear Doors

Trying to avoid making unnecessary threads, but my best attempts to scour the FAQs and Google have left me without a good answer. I plan on taking the top off of my FJ, but need to buy half doors for the back. I don't even know what they'd be called; half rear doors is my best guess.

Any idea of solutions, places to buy, price range, etc? Thanks guys. This forum has been a really helpful resource in the learning process.

I took my top off my car and made a 1/2 rear door out of some 5mm aluminium sheet with a metal frame. The sheet was riveted onto the frame and I used the hinges from the barn doors.

I had to get a door bolt thingy, the one that likes slides into the ground with a u shaped top where you put a padlock through, to hold the door closed.

Works okay.

I do have L and R halves of 1/2 doors from a early model that I intend to use instead of that other door when I get around to getting the rust removed etc......

I would search for barn doors that is what they are usually called, but rear door and tailgate would also be wise. I bought an extra set of ambulance doors. My hope is to cut them in half and make barn doors for the body and also use the top half to make upper barn doors for the top. If it works out then I will sell the pair I did not cut up. The hard top with ambulance doors to me is the worse thing Toyota ever did for what should be a convertible.
