Gettin closer! Got the harness put back; all connectors covered in foam to keep from rattling. Need to rebuild a couple 60 series seat bottoms then I Gotta get the ground wire installed, bypass heater in engine bay hook up battery and blank out the old vino. Oh yeah, install the seat belts and fender patches!

Ugg it gets thick when it gets hot... between camping work and geeking out on details this is dragging out....

Spent some time working on seat belt tabs and what type of hard ware to use... worked on the trans tunnel hatch- something I gave far too little credit of at the beginning of its phase... I forgot it was sort of the mantle piece and needed some extra attention- especially considering I gave it the hack makeover when putting it on over the late model 4 speed. I simply welded a plate to the bottom of the hatch to cover the old 3 speed trans tower hole and cut out a hole hole the 4 speed tower. I had a hard time getting boots to work, and it looked gawdaweful so I fixed it...

Here it is after cutting out trans and transfer holes, welding shut the old transfer boot bolt holes and welding in weld nuts of the correct m6 x 1.0 thread pitch for the fj60 booties bolts and shaving down the old paint

After much sanding and sweating in 107 temps I got it to here following 2 cans of high temp primer and about 2 days of futzing with it...

I got some silicone rubber gasket strip from McMaster and made a gasket.... it took me a while to figure out how I was going to glue it to the hatch with all its bends and curves and was considering days of gluing it here and there with clothes pins and clamps till the glue cured enough to move to the next set of bends but then I got smarter than I was ...( not saying much- you guys know...)- enter #10 thhn solid...

It reminds me of one of those Aussie wire brimmed hats I used to have as a kid.... that's what gave me the ideer. I'm not sure about the bulb, but it does give definition of panel and functional ease of access... besides, itll keep my spilt "coffee drank" from getting everywhere!!!:hillbilly:

Yowser! Very impressive.

Arg it's so close... dropped seat covers off for repair, seat foams enroute...all i gotta do is bolt in a pair...

Yep, 62 series seats in grey- to be interchangeable with the gingerbread wagon( our fj62 ). I have started allowing my thoughts to stray from fenders and door trying ms to things like a/c... I might know a guy with 60 series bits I don't have and r12 to boot. So the center console has drawn my ire...or should it be up on the ceiling??? Anyway, NO a/c yet, but I will not do without for long...

If I get my way I'll have AC by January
