Hey all, I have a 1991 fj80 that I swapped an h42 and split case in a while back. I just picked up a brand new h55f from my local dealership today and am excited for that 5th gear. The trans and split case currently in my rig came out of an 87 fj60, so all my driveshafts and cross member support etc will work. A friend who works at a cruiser specialty shop is going to help me split the case and bolt it all together. I’ve got the gasket kit on order, and I have new input shaft seal (he recommended getting it for an fj62 as they are better for preventing leakage between the two) as well as new front and rear output shaft seals. I think i understand the 5th gear oil cup, but am reading about a hole that needs plugged? Can anyone post a pic of what they did as well as what thread pitch and bolt type? That’s the only area of the swap that I’m not 100% sure of. There is also one threaded hole on the side of my new h55 that I'm unsure of.
