So, my 5 speed came with just a blank knob modeled after the typical 4speed know but with no shift pattern. It's been a little clunky feeling through the shift pattern - but never really gave any thought to it. I just picked up the OEM replacement shift knob - dark gray, contoured, soft-ish rubbery plasticy - not the hard black plastic one....I swear it shifts better!

Maybe because the knob is a little taller or something - different leverage point? Seems to fall into the gears much, much better...

Any-hoo, just thought I comment on that...

I rememeber I put a Momo shifter knob on my celica........it shifter better and was faster :D

My 60 is faster after I wash it. Actually, faster and 60 in the same sentence doesn't work. How about..My 60 is not as slow after I wash it.

trying waxing it! It'll do wheelies!

OK...I deserve ever bit of it..but really, I think it's better!

and just to get in on the fun...

After I wax the Cruiser I can smoke all the tires in 4WD! Although I bet it's not as good as what everyone else seems to smoke out here in the Boulder area though...;-)

Is it possible that the new shift knob dampens the clunkyness somewhat?

I would suggest a "426 Hemi" emblem instead...;)
