Has anyone used the bottom cross member in this picture with a DC front drive line? I am getting ready to perform the conversion and would like to avoid any foreseeable interference problems.

Thanks.

check calicruiser's thread in the 60 section where he installed a toybox. although you may not need it modified like he did, it sure makes sure there is no problem with driveshaft and x-member interference when the axle droops.

I used the same crossmember, from an FJ60, cut down to fit between the framerails on my FJ40. I then used the FJ60 DC front driveline bolted to the e-brake at the rear of the H55f as the rear driveline. I used my original rear driveline from my 3 speed transfercase as my front driveline. With new u-joints, everything bolted up, but it took some doing to make sure/find the right flanges.

That said, I'm still waiting to put the tub back on, so don't have any feedback as to how the front driveline will behave, yet.

Domsmith has dealt with this too. Send a pm with email address, and I can send some pics.

I don't think that I will have an issue with the rear; it is the front that I am concerned with. It should work; the early FJ60's are the ones that had the DC front shaft with the early style cross member.
