here's an oddball I recently acquired, as near as I understand this was installed in early 80 series overseas
supposed to use the 2F flywheel and preasure plate, it would need the correct spline clutch disc
$2500?
plus shipping
I can ship from my location

That is a neat combo. Do you know anything about miles on it?

kind of a long story, the guy I picked it up from along with a bunch of other parts, got it in the late 90's? he wanted a 5 speed in his 60 series, he got it from someone who imported it from Japan. He would have installed it in his 60 but ran into trouble sourcing a clutch disc to fit the splines on the trans.
So he left it sitting in the corner of his garage, until he mentioned it to me when I was looking at all the other stuff he was wanting to sell.
I'm not certain the transfer shifter knob is correct, I'm able to shift it in a straight line, not down and over, but it is a part time case.

@3_puppies is this a better product for a 1FZ then? I know this transmission originally was intended for that engine, right? So someone would have to source a different bell housing and clutch components if they went that route? Sounds tricky for us in the US wanting a 5 speed for our 2F/3FE?

cheers

I don't know if you would need to change the input shaft, and then as you stated find a bellhousing and flywheel for a 1FZ
probably better suited to an 80 series, with the H55 being available and able to use the splitcase. seems easier for a 60/62 series versus this setup.
or finding the guy that wants a 5 speed in his 91-92 80 series

So for a 60 series with 1FZ the H55 makes more sense?

"F" block 2F, 3FE whether 60 or 62 series is probably easier to mate with an H55 and use a split case transfer
the 3FE in the 91-92 80 series if using an H55 you would then need to source a split case transfer, the trans listed above uses the HF1A or HF2A transfercase which the 80 series uses the full time version of the transfer

1FZ in a 60 series would have been swapped in by someone, it was not a stock option

Hi so if i'm understanding correctly the the it is set up for a F series

I have a 91 3fe I have been wanting to swap to manual, was going to use a H42 but this seems like a better option.

and I'm just a short drive south of Alberta, depending on where you are located.
so it uses a similar transfer case to what you now have, other than it is part time not full time, but I don't think it has a center diff lock. I think you could use your existing transfer case if you don't want to go part time.
