Thought I'd add something else here. I'm doing an H11 low-beam HID conversion with upgrade 9005 high beam bulbs. I will not upgrade the high-beams to HID since HID's take a few seconds to activate, which doesn't fair well when needed to flash someone on the highway. HID is also blindingly bright!
Hello JBHorne,

Good choice, I don’t think you will regret it, few points please;

1) What is the advantage of replacing the original H11s with 9005s in this case?
2) You are correct, in my opinion, absolutly NO on HIDs on high beams, especially on SUVs, I gurantee you, everything will turn black for a few seconds after looking at them!
3) BTW, Flashing someone during the day time produces interesting alternating flashes (L & H beams).

The H11's are the low beams. 9005 Hi beams. I have an upgraded wiring harness to replace the factory 9005s with a brighter 9005 kit -- non hid.

Umm, my 09 LC has HID on high beam as stock (VXR Gulf Spec). I have come across others oncoming with high beams on driving at night, and wasn't bad at all. Perhaps a different story for sedans. The high beam light goes a LONG way forward, and to the sides and up. Very cool while driving through forest.

It would make more sense to me to have HID low beams, with projectors, for the best overall visibility in normal use, and halogen high beams, like some other SUVs. A good compromise would be halogen low beams with projectors (can be very good, like in the Honda Pilot), and halogen high beams.

The LX570 in the Gulf Region has halogen low beam projectors, with HID high beams, another good solution.

Would it be feasible to swap the hood, wings, and grill from a LX570 to a LC200 to fit the LX headlights? In the LC100/LX470, I believe all you had to change was the hood.

Good day Range Cruiser,
I think the diference is obvious: factory vs. aftermarket, although I have never seen an HID on a factory reflector before, could you post some pics.
