Just curious, are the body panels/hood steel or aluminum on the LC 250/GX 550?
Have seen this for the GX. Assume the same for the 250?

Just curious, are the body panels/hood steel or aluminum on the LC 250/GX 550?
Thanks for the notes. Any comments on wind noise at hwy speeds?I test drove a gx today and was quite impressed. Blows my old 80 and 100 out of the water in terms of power and drivability- it’s not even close. I also felt the interior was similar size, didn’t feel smaller at all, and I actually felt I had more leg room in the drivers position. The hood was a little odd though, I think that would take some getting used to, as it has a weird shape and makes the front end seem really long when you’re driving - plus the sloped fender shape from the hood. You’ll see what I mean the minute you sit in it and start driving, although you get notice it less once you get going.
I really liked driving it and have no hesitation waiting for the trim and color I want. It’s a really nice looking vehicle and I think they have a winner on their hands here. It’s definitely not cheap, and I don’t like how the dealerships hype it up as some hard to get so you’ll be privileged to get one thing. It is still just a car, but paying a premium to be first in line isn’t necessarily the smart move in any event.
In my local area ADM for the GX is currently $3,500, but started at $10,000. Like an earlier post, dealers will start high and happily sell to anyone willing to pay that price regardless of a waitlist. On the Land Cruiser, ADMs are anywhere from $10,000 to $2,500 depending on dealer and model. Unfortunately a majority of Toyota dealers in Oregon are part of large corporate ownership groups making finding someone willing to sell at straight MSRP difficult. I am on the waitlist for a premium GX and have noted I’m unwilling to pay an ADM. I do have a 1958 LC reserved but we agreed to discuss ADM on delivery. I have also stated I will buy the roof rack and rock rails at MSRP. Late May delivery, so we shall see.I guess I should have said allocations. Theoretically ADM could be added on when it arrives, but most of the allocations on toyota.com/search-inventory show ADMs if they have them.
I've only seen a couple of secured allocations, but I don't think I've seen anyone on mud yet say they agreed to an ADM.
Also in Oregon. Will not pay ADM. waiting on the market to crash and then dealers will deal. Not in a hurry to buy. Waiting for the 4Runner to drop at local dealers. In my local area ADM for the GX is currently $3,500, but started at $10,000. A big problem that makes the situation worse is the franchise owners families typically get the first pick of the allocations coming in as well. So even if you were first on a wait list, you still won’t be first to get a rig.In my local area ADM for the GX is currently $3,500, but started at $10,000. As long as you're local to Las Vegas, with valid ID, both Lexus dealerships are selling at msrp.
Same in Louisiana. Not negotiable either. Vehicle Protection Package and window tint is an added $1795. But hey, they are not charging over MSRP!My local dealer here in NC says for the GX they are doing MSRP plus their $499 garbage paint protection and nitrogen tire fill package.
I’d give them a % of those add-ons not to install them. I’d rather pick my PPF, tint, and installer.Same in Louisiana. Not negotiable either. Vehicle Protection Package and window tint is an added $1795. But hey, they are not charging over MSRP!![]()

This is my hang up with it. Yes I am going to get tint and ppf/ceramic added but i can get a much better product and application from someone who specializes in that department compared to what dealers typically offer. Make it an option sure, but mandatory? No thanks. To be fair they do a good job on the ppf they do install and the tint. Overpriced by a few hundred I'd guess though. They recently didn't both with the nitrogen BS on my wife's TX at Price Leblanc.
