I suspect the latter :)

What trim/options are you hoping for?
It certainly could be, though I don't care too much since I'm not going to spring for the FE. Top choice for me is the LC trim in sand/beige without the premium package. Next would be a 1958 in black and then eventually do it up like my 80 series that was built by Corsetti, i.e. the meanest looking pavement princess out there.

Passed on a first edition at my dealer. He requested two from Toyota, a First edition for another customer, and a 1958 for me. Toyota allotted two first editions. Zero interest in paying nearly $20k extra for the same vehicle.

I'm curious if your dealer is holding to sticker price. Or is wanting to make his Wallet Fat.

I usually buy for a certain dollar value over invoice, but under sticker, it depends on the vehicle. (ex we purchased my wife’s old 2011 FJC Trail Teams for $500 over invoice). I am fortunate to have a small local dealer and a great relationship that spans 30 years personally, much longer through my parents. It’s so nice to walk in and purchase something with zero BS.

As someone who has bought quite a few cars I envy you.

I keep tabs on Longo Toyota and Longo Lexus websites as that is where I have a place in line for LC and GX. I’ve bought from the Lexus side before and they do a good job showing what is being built, in transit or on the lot. Note - they show them all, even if a unit is already tagged to a wait line customer.

For the GX they are showing 37 GX’s (2 in stock, 2 in transit, 33 in production). I’m around ~90 on the GX list so I have high hopes that once they start shipping in volume it should not be too long. In the mix the OT/OT+ is a little under the target of 40% (total) of volume. In looking at the color I saw a good mix, but no Nori Green in this first 37. Not surprising at all early in production.

For the Land Cruiser they are not showing any units yet, but called me earlier this week to let me know a Heritage Blue with Premium package will be there 6 - 8 weeks from now for my place in the wait list. I placed my LC refundable deposit very quickly after the announcement.

I’m heading up there on Sunday for their GX event to get another look at the GX. I saw a prototype at the Lexus experience last year and then last month saw a prototype that was in testing locally.

I’m expecting in the end I’ll go GX OT or OT+ over LC 250, we shall see.

I'll be at this event as well. Just really hoping to put some eyes on an Overtrail. While there, kill 2 birds so to speak, and see the new Tacoma and hopefully Landcruiser at Longo Toyota.

I passed a truck full of new Toyotas, including a white and a blue 250, eastbound today on the I-40 near Williams, Arizona.

Seeing them in person reinforced for me how staid, classic, and well-proportioned these trucks look. The white looks particularly timeless.

But yet the website still has incorrect specs ;)

Who knows what they are actually buying...but like has been said before, the 99% mindless consumers just don't care. They just need a car that looks cool.

And you did not take any pics ? 🤔

True.

Hi,

New member of the forum here, LC aficionado from Spain. I ordered mine ~10 days ago.

I would describe the situation here in Spain for anyone who cares. All prices in euro. Fwiw: Neither the GX550 or the new 4runner are available in our market.

I passed on the first edition which was sold out in a few hours anyway. It's weird because there were 250 units available priced at 90k (103k after registration tax). That's a lot.

The VX came shortly after, priced at 76k. It's the 2.8 turbo diesel (non-hybrid) 204hp engine, available only during 2024 and limited to 500 units in VX trim only. There's no brochure whatsoever and the dealers barely know the real specs. I suspect it won't be promoted for real until the mild-hybrid arrives in 2025 and with it the GX and VXL trims too. I decided to order one based on online reviews (from people I trust) and my (blind?) faith in Toyota.

My order is roughly:

Trim: VX
Color: White Pearl (ext) / Black (int)
Extras: Tow bar
Ordered:4/2024
Expected arrival:8/2024

Price: 78,5k (incl. taxes and extras - black ext and no tow bar is 2k less)
Registration tax (license plates): 8k (expensive due to eco label C, in other words high emissions)
Discounts (purchased for professional use)
-10,5k from dealership
-30k trade in vehicle (2017 3-door LC 150)
-6k tax deduction

So a final price of ~40k for me.

Just stopped by the local Lexus dealer to ask about GXs. They have a bunch inbound and only half are spoken for. I threw my deposit down on an incognito Overtrail with a moonroof delete. No markups beyond the nitrogen fill and stupid protection s***, which I would fight tooth and nail to remove if it comes to it.

I'm on the verge of cancelling my LC deposit. No line of site into the trim/option combo I'm interested in.

Quite the stroke of luck to find an overtrail with delete at no markup! My dealer called and said that would have some "in-stock" next week but I think they just mean demo units.

Where? Dealers in Socal. Longo Lexus will sell at MSRP but have a 900+ waitlist supposedly. Newport Lexus sold one at $30k over list this week. South Coast Lexus wants $20k over list. Desert Lexus has what I want inbound and not sold yet but wants over MSRP also. Told them I'd buy it today at list and he said I could turn around and sell it for more. Told him I hold my vehicles. 30 year old Landcruiser and 11 year old Prius. This will be my last vehicle I will probably buy at 66 years old!🤣

I’m on Longo’s waitlist. I have bought other Lexus there before (during CV supply chain drama) and also affirm they are MSRP dealer.

I’m ~90 on GX list. Talked to another person @ today’s GX event @ Longo who was around ~400 and he had gotten on the list a little while ago. I could see their list pushing 1K. The good news with them is they get the most allocations on the west coast and they will refund your deposit if you choose drop off the list.

Get on the list at Longo, put a refundable deposit and then, if something else comes in elsewhere, buy it and get back your deposit.

Ira Lexus in Massachusetts. I told him I don't do markups and he said if I do a deposit today he would do sticker. 🤷

👍
Followed up with Desert Lexus by email offering msrp and I'd buy today. Nope.

I was at Longo Lexus today as well. Worth the drive. GX is a beautiful truck for sure. Leaning back toward the Tacoma TRD Offroad. Santa Margarita Toyota is a .srp dealer like Longo. I'm nearlly positive the Tacoma Trailhunter will command above msrp too.
