I've had my '08 for a year now and really want to update all of the 15 year old speakers. It is a Mark Levinson with the amp under the driver. I really don't want to change anything except replace the old speakers.
So far, I pulled 2 examples. The rear cargo door has what I measure as 3.0 inches, 2-way, 8 ohm, while Crutchfield says 2.558 inches. I can't find a 3 incher - everything seems to be 3.5. The other speaker I pulled was from a rear door that sounded blown. I measure it as 6.0 inches, 2-way, 16 ohm. It is a problem child, so the ohms may not be right. I can't find a 16 ohm speaker replacement, and the most popular cousin seems to be 6.5 inches. My frustration is that if I have to select a speaker that is larger than OEM for any speaker, Crutchfield says to make up my own mounts and use hot glue. I'd rather do something better than that.
Anyone with some experience and advice?
