GX470 Non-ML front speaker replacement, where did you tap in for the crossover? (1 Viewer)

I'm replacing the front speakers on my 2007 GX470 Non-ML. I bought Kicker 6x9" components with tweeters and crossovers. I noticed while removing the old speakers that the factory 6x9" had separate wiring from the mids and tweeters. They don't seem to merge, at least on the door side wiring. Will I be okay connecting my Kicker crossovers to the existing wires from the 6x9? What I'm concerned about is if that wiring is already prefiltered from the amp specifically for the 6x9.

I spoke with a rep at crutchfield and he assured me that the signal to the 6x9 is full range. I went ahead and hooked up the crossover to that line and finished the install. Since I wanted to keep the mid speaker, I had to cut and splice the mid/tweeter harness. The signal runs through the factory tweeter which I have removed.
