Ok did a search, nothing nada.

I am trying to replace OEM lights on my 2007 with LED's, got every bulb changed except the four on the outside running boards. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly there is a black cover about the size of a nickle that you pop off. I did mine with LEDs but they are not very good to be honest. Good light but they do not last very long and when they are on the flicker. Not really impressed. just my personal experience though.

Thanks fst... no black cover just the running board cover and the clear plastic lens.

Swapped mine out last weekend, just reach under and give them a twist. Its a 194 bulb if you didn't know already. I added a blob of dielectric grease and have had no flicker issues. I only put the LED's in there because I had the bulbs laying around in a drawer, once I get some rails they will be gone.

Cringe - reach under what? The running board? I tried that and could barely get my fingers in there...please explain further if possible, thanks.

You reach under the running board and feel around right behind the lens, I did have to lay on a creeper to make it possible to get my hand in there. The back were really easy to reach, the front is pretty tight though. Just a quarter turn and they come right out. I didn't want dirt in my eyes so reinstalling them took a bit longer because I was just moving them around until they went back in.

Follow the wires.

Cringe is right. tight fit to get to them but doesn't take much to change them out once you get a hold of them.

Trick is NOT to try and grab the harness between thumb and finger. Instead just poke your finger in there and push left, or right. If it doesn't move fairly easy, try the other direction. It's only like a quarter turn. Once they have turned, then you can just grab the wire close and fiddle and they will fall out. Easier than trying to get hold of the plug. I just did them again yesterday. :) P.S. If anyone needs bulbs I have a sh!tload! It was just slightly cheaper to buy like 50 instead of 10. Lol. Now I've removed my step rails, but I have the wiring and lamp housings because I'm going to repurpose them as underbody light. :)

Please share your thoughts of re-purposing the RB lights. I cut down my steps and have the same idea but haven't figured out how. Was thinking about fastening them to sliders but no sliders in the immediate future.

Just write up whatever. I have seen people bolt on, stick on with 3m tape, use house clamps, etc.

I know it's been a while but, do you still have bulbs?
