For anyone researching tires. 2020 on stock suspension. New tires are Falken Rubitrek A/T 265/65r18. So far, no mods required. Road noise is minimal, and the ride is fairly smooth for an A/T. Running tire pressure at 33psi currently.

How quiet are those Falken's?

For an A/T tire, they are fairly quiet (obviously not like a highway tire). The ride is relatively smooth on road as well. Definitely a good option for a mostly on-road daily driver. I run the Falken Wildpeaks on my 4Runner for over 50k. I've been very impressed with the Falken products.

I have been running BFG, both the T/A's and M/T's for over 20 years and love them, but they're hard to come by sometimes.

Gratuitous poser shots of the first outing with the new front bumper.

(FR401A to Soldier Camp by Four Peaks, and playing at the Rolls for the Phoenix-area folks)

(No, I didn't push on through the last one.)

I can attest to the Falken At3w from a previous build. Rock solid tire. A bit on the heavy side.
My tire 2¢

I rode on BFG KO2s for my last couple of trucks. I switched to the Falken AT3W about a year ago. So far, I slightly prefer their on road performance (noise & grip), but in sand or rock climbing the KO2 had the edge. In snow, these Falkens are waaaaaay better then the updated KO2s which turn to cement in low temps, that's where I've found the biggest difference.

Old KO2s came with the "triple peak snowflake" symbol but tended to come apart at inopportune times (don't take my word, look it up). The updated rubber is absolutely terrible in cold and they've removed the snow rating, but at least you don't get blowouts after 20k miles.

I also really liked the Yokohama Geolander AT-S from about a decade ago, but didn't like the current offering. They were a good highway tire with decent off road performance and good looks. Probably a nice match for lots of GX owners, but alas no longer available.

The Geolander AT-S was a GREAT, underrated overall AT tire. Great in snow, good offroad, good road manners. Ran on my Tacoma and 4runner and loved it.

I got them because I needed an odd size, but I ended up really liking them. They weren't super aggressive off road, but they rode like an all-season touring tire that could also get you off the grid a bit. Excellent snow traction too. The new G015 replacement just didn't stack up, but I really wanted these for my GX.

Pardon my Datsun pics. Somebody post a badass GX, quick!

This was outside St. George at Warner Valley Dinosaur Track Site. My kid is obsessed with dinosaurs so we had to go LOL
If you hit any part of So. Cal, you gotta go here: CABAZON DINOSAURS - https://www.cabazondinosaurs.com/
If you ever saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure movie, they are the same location as the giant dinosaurs in that movie. It's when Pee-Wee asks Simone, "What about your bit BUT." but is misinterpreted by Simone's boyfriend as "... your big BUTT." It's become a classic line since.

Awesome, my son would love that! We are planning a trip to Calfornia in the next year or two and that would be a fun stop. Just need to get a new vehicle going. Our GX is all back to stock and will be going up for sale. Ive been searching for a 100 series LC with not much luck lol

The 200's should be coming down in price now that there's the 300's, albeit only in Lexus badging.
With a 200, you'll be getting all the creature comforts of the GX. My wife and I both had our own 100 series and they are great vehicles, but are dated. We've been way more impressed with the GX over the 100 series. After having a GX, you may be disappointed in a 100, thus a 200 may be closer to the GX in all the features.

We are planning on a large addition to our house so I am looking to ditch car payment on the GX plus my wife wants to get something she just doesn't care about as much. The GX is nice but cringe everytime the muddy dog jumps on the leather or we drag brush down the side of it. Ive been looking at 200s but you just dont get that much more and they are more than double the price. Prices on 200s actually are going up, partly due to used car prices in general but I think also because we are not getting a real 300 series. I can get a decent 100 for low $20K's while decent 200's are $40K+

As far as the GX goes its my wifes daily and was not a vehicle I really wanted. The looks never grew on me at all. The truck would be great if it was an 07.......but its a 17' and just feels soooo dated to me. If I were to do it over again I would have bought a GX470 like my sisters, better looking and dosent feel so behind in tech because its actually old. Our GX has been a great truck though, just both ready to move on. We put 45K miles on it in just over a year and was rock solid.
