A few months ago I was toying with the idea of another GX (unmodified), and found that prices looked to be about $10k higher than they were in 2021 when I bought my current GX (for 3 years old, 40-50k miles). And that was before all this tariff chaos.
That's the inverse of what I've seen across the board. Prices seem to have (in general) plummeted over the last year after the Covid pricing insanity. Maybe the value of yours being a 2021 and still "relatively new" has something to do with the arrival of the 550.

Prices have dropped, prices have risen, it's whatever bull s*** story a salesman has that day. Know what you want to pay and stick to it. Anybody that doesn't want to deal at your price then walk away. Simple as that. You are the market.

Other than the last years of production the GX prices are deflating on the front range over the long term. They are still relatively unknown.

I don’t count the pricing on low mile unicorns to be anyway representative of the actual value of an average condition average mileage vehicle.

Go look up a 3 year old GX (2022) with 40-50k miles. I paid $38k for mine, I doubt you'll find one that cheap.

I did represent the GX fairly well yesterday. Did some flexing in front of the non KDSS toyotas.

Back end felt more connected since removing then extra 1.5" of lift.

With tools and recovery gear it's nicely balanced .

Everything's $10,000 higher since 2021. Even eggs are $10,000 higher than 2021!!!
(but hopefully be getting better before the end of year...🤞)

I realize I probably paid too much for mine. I probably would have been better off buying a 2018+ for up-front expense but I love the flexibility of upgrades in early GX460s. I still see them at the same price point for similar mileage/model years. If you want to unload one...there may not be a better time.

I’d have to spend around $42k today for what I purchased my GX back in ‘17

My custom made 4 tire inflation system is now QCed. I had to remove a regulator that failed, and may try to find another regulator as a cheap solution to have adjustable max pressure. Right now I just have the Morrflate manifold.

Love the one I made! With the OBDII on my phone set to the tire pressures, I can sit inside and watch as the pressure comes/goes down.
I may add a pressure regulator to set an OFF pressure when it gets to XX PSI.

I have a secondary air line hook-up so I could get another cheap 4 way air up setup and do two at once.

I bought mine 2019 in 2022, at the height of the chip crisis, wild used price time. Paid WAY more than I should have. I did get a TON for my trade-in 470, but still not happy about it.

That's how it was for mine. Did alright on my Rubicon considering it had multiple rust perforation. Still got 16k for it. So that helped a lot. Alex made 8k on their wrangler when they traded it on the 4Runner.

Sounds similar to my experience. My 470 lived in upstate NY for 10 years and was an absolute rust bucket. They gave me 15k for it.

My 2011 JKR was super low miles

Well I paid mine off this past Monday and really have no regrets. Mine was a heavily-optioned Base with features that seemed difficult to find in later years without going to a higher trim. I'll probably report the same after another 140K.

The only reason I bought the 2013 is that at the time there were not any options for front steel bumpers for the '14+ models. So I decided to get a very clean, very last year of the old style bumpers. If I waited another year or so for the after market to catch up, I would probably have purchased a much newer GX.

C'mon! The OG red taillamps, non-spindle grille and the near-zero effort to install factory Remote Start, Crawl and MTS make the early models a great catch! I think the seat coverings and trim were better too. 😮
