Extended cab is not optional. I traded my last standard cab pickup in 2001 and wouldn't have another one, I am 6'5".

I drive mini-trucks for 17 years
To think, back in the day when I was young and flexible, I'd drive to a surf spot at night and sleep in the cab to catch an early dawn patrol surf session. I'm 6'-0" and would curl up on that bench seat. Albeit, at the time I was probably all of 170 lbs.

Yeah, I am way too tall for that, lol.

Jealous about the heated steering wheel. Some day I will actually get remote start.
Yeah, love my heated steering wheel when the temp's get below 55° F.
Might be shedding the flannel shirts, sweaters and jackets this weekend, it's supposed to get into the high 60°s F to low 70°s F! It's currently in the mid 50°s F.

Remote start is the first thing put in the Taco. When I got the GX started looking at them and then realized it had 4G being a 19 and was a factory option, duh. So I called Lexus connected services and paying one year it works out to $6.50 a month and they throw in connect assist as well

We're supposed to get 4-8" of snow this week. If that materializes on the upper end, it will be the most snow we've had in a decade.

Our lows will be a balmy -2, however. Need to plug the heat trace in my well in so the pressure switch doesn't freeze again :).
We've gone from "major winter storm" with potentially a foot of snow yesterday back to our usual forecast of 0-6 inches so my assumption is that by Wednesday when the storm hits it will just be 33 and raining again.

NWS upped their forecast to 10". I'll believe it when I see it.

Next Tuesday is forecasted at 60F!

My truck came with 3G. But it was broken. Might be why they traded it. I almost didn't buy it because of its infotainment.

Too cheap and easy to install for you to not have. I paid around a hundo from Bell Lexus. Techstream and some hand tools can get you finished in an hour or two. Though I love CC/MTS among some other upgrades, this is what I use most even on warm days. I can click some buttons on the factory fob and have oil and coolant to temperature before I leave the house. Feels fancy!

My truck also came with 3G. :/ Also for some reason it seems that it doesn't even have the OEM remote start ECU so I cant even use the key fob to start it.
Same.

Doesn’t it require the Lexus connect subscription? My 3 year “trial” expired and I lost remote start with the key fob. When I had my last oil change I asked them to check my remote start. Dealer said I needed the app and subscription.

Some say it does, others it doesn't. Up until I paid for the Lexus Connect I used mine for a year with the fob with no problem on my 19. But the range of the fob sucks and doesn't work from the house through the windows. Even holding it against the chin with mouth open. Hey it does extend the range but not enough. Tried sacrificing a chicken and holding a foot in the air while Venus was aligned with Mars, no joy. Still had to go outside to get it to work. Kind of defeats the whole remote start purpose like this morning

Did I mention it is only $6.50 a month & Lexus Assist included if you pay for a year? Basic functionality but also shows the GPS location of the truck. Both Viper and Compustar remote starts cost me a lot more than that.

I used to have heated parking so I didn't care.

I've lived in Minnesota my whole life, and the GX is the first vehicle I've had with heated seats. Not to mention climate control, sunroof, auto wipers, etc. But I didn't buy the GX for that stuff anyway.

First time for me as well. Wait until you get close to 70, now I am asking myself why the hell I waited so long. Oh wait, you have that stuff already, smart move :D
Some of it I could do without. First couple of months there were times I had flashbacks to Stephen King and the possessed Christine car LOL.

I added the Accessorides remote start module in late 2023 and it also works well using the factory fob. My only 2 complains about remote start is that the range on the factory fob isn't great and I think the way Toyotas shut down remote start when you open the door and make you restart is annoying.

It is still nice to get things pre-heated or pre-cooled before you get in.

I'm getting there, at 63.

This is the first I've heard of 4G and remote start. Does the 4G connection work as a hot spot?

Good question... According to a quick search Lexus does offer up to 5 hotspots with Enform WiFi connect. I have a 19 which was the first year for 4G in the GX. When I went to the Lexus connected services page and logged in it says my Lux does not have the capability. And I have never seen it in the menu. Not sure what year they started to offer it on the GX but looks like after 19.

On a different but similar note, where I stay in Canada and Northern Mn. there is no cell phone reception. But the main lodges at both places have Internet WiFi. Cabins are ~1/4-1/2 mile away through thick trees in both cases.

I carry a Ubiquiti airMAX NanoStation M2 radio. I attach to a window on the cabin and point it to the main lodges

I hook it up to a Ubiquiti air cube dual band access point and it gives me phone reception over WiFi. And of course internet access on the laptops. I've shot it as far as 2 miles away to another lodge across the lake but speed really drops. I can get almost 100 Mbps with this setup from half a mile away when that is the speed at the lodge. And the Air Cube allows phone access 100 or more yards from the cabins.

Being totally isolated for a couple weeks at a time isn't always all it is cracked up to be.
