For those wanting to mount tires inside. I did a third row delete and a heavy duty y strap connected to the seat belt and 2 anchor points. Still trying to figure out a better set up to block the passage way for Nigel

Nice! I went a little further and built a little stash space for my tires, but I also pulled out the 2nd and 3rd row

Stash space? You build a platform that rest on top of your spare I assume?

Messy pic, but this is with everything in over the summer, all the camping stuff fits there leaving rhe bulk of the second row for the dogs.

The only time I drove it with more than 2 people is when I first bought it. So the second and third row were superfluous.

This way all of my recovery gear in the tire space and free to get to when fully loaded. My traction boards fit between the tire and the door.

Nice! I was thinking of doing it this way at first. But its a jump for the dog. Though on long trips he's going to sit in the captain chairs anyways.

Assuming all the pool noodles are to keep the dogs from getting banged up on trails?
Good idea!

Yes! I also cut one to go over the 90 degree angle on the front of it and used finish washers with wood screws to hold that pool noodle in place

I think I have less than $100 in everything, maybe $150 at most.

33” there. There’s room for larger. But you’ll probably have to move the 2nd row seat a little forward
I sized mine to swallow up to a 37" tire

I’ll be working on a similar style mounting system for my spare, upright passenger rear. Does that think slide around at all when off-roading? I’m going to overbuild a whole metal system, for fear of it sliding or coming loose.

I used a similar system and only had issues after extremely spirited driving. Just make sure to check the tightness before/after any spirited driving.

Haven’t had a chance to get in the trails yet. But I’m pretty sure it won’t slide anywhere. There 3 anchor points, It’s wedged on my cargo basket and between the seat and door. I don’t see it sliding around anywhere as the racket strap snugs it on the side of the car pretty tight.

I currently just strap mine on top of the 3rd row anchor points on the driver or passenger side and then use an additional strap between the rear most anchor and the hand hold on the roof. It doesn't move anywhere once it is secured, but I do have to re-tighten my strap every other month. You could use these to maybe keep the straps from losing tension over time.

Bulldog Y Rachet strap Here is what I use

That would probably work well. My tire is just temporarily there until an ExpOne bumper magically shows up in the next few weeks. Not a fan of keeping it in the cabin longer term. Takes up way too much room imo. Wish there was more room behind the axle.
Likewise, I almost went with ExpOne front and rear bumpers. Couldn’t get over the weights though. So I ended up with Victory 4x4 front and rear. I’m running a skinny 255/80/17 so it doesn’t eat up as much room.
