Is it true that the GX and LX have the same wheel base and basically the same width?
Yes, the wheelbase is the same. I believe the width is similar as well.

Seems odd Toyota would do that, so it’s the same power train, just a different body with less options…..makes my choice kinda easy

Lx has more interior volume

Wheel base and track is the same but the lx is longer and 4in wider.

In the early 90s the 70 series and the Prodo had the same body, the same frame but the Prodo had a different front clip, axels and instead of leaf springs has coil springs. It also came with a different engine.

Driven both, own an Lx600. The extra $30,000-$50,000 doesn't buy you $30,000-$50,000 worth of experience, but it is definitely a more premium vehicle.
Quieter. Faster. Smoother ride. More luxurious interior.

Really like the gx550 layout, reasonably comfortable. Had the gx550 been available in 2022 when I bought my LX, would have had a hard time picking between the two.

I am coming out of a ‘13 LX and I am trying to decide the very same thing, I keep coming back to the GX 550. It’s mostly my wife’s truck and we never go off road, just looking for a long term Lexus quality that will occasionally tow my boat.

Looking at a Land Cruiser fully loaded for $65,000 or the first edition for $71,000 does anyone have thoughts on if the First Edition is worth the extra dollars? By the way, never going “real off-roading”

The LX really is a cut above in all area's as it should be. The LX feels priced accordingly, the GX honestly feels a bit high for what you get.

Since you’re not off-roading, for the money, get a Lexus TX instead…..

At $71k, I would get a GX 550 instead.

I have both, the LX is significantly more premium and larger on the inside

Driving an Infinite QX 80 Sensory next week. A lot of truck for the money.
$100k I’m buying an Escalade or Denali ultimate…. Not a Nissan

They do look nice though.

2023 sensory, 17,000 miles $61,000 with a 6 year unlimited mileage certified warranty…..that V8 is tried and true, it’s a lot of truck for the money.
Silly me I thought that was the new gen, I thought they were stil QX56

That’s a great rig for $61k!
