Firstly, I am not looking for "official" Toyota specs. Rather, judgement and experience from those of you who have upgraded their suspension and carry more weight.

My situation is that I am sitting at ~6800 with normal gear and 2 adults. But when I tow I will need to distribute about 700-750 of trailer tongue weight onto the LC and most of that is sitting on the rear axle. I also need to shift about 300# of weight from the trailer to the LC in order to remain under the 6,000 GVWR on the trailer. That will put me ~600# over the GVWR of the LC.

How much does the stronger suspension I put on the LC (2700/2721 ARB/OME springs and Nitrocharger shocks w/ a 2" lift) help or hurt in this situation?

(Note, I run 285/65 R18 E-rated tires so although I made add 1 or 2 PSI to the rear tires when towing I am no where near the max on those tires.)

Thanks!

FYI I got ahold of Lovell’s and the GVM upgrade with 2” lift spring rate specs are as follows:

Front: TFR-121 – 675lbs/inch
Rear: TRR-122HD – 320lbs/inch

The factory specs I believe are 500# front, 170# rear.

So if you interested in pushing the 3800kg limit of the GVM upgrade (which is 1200# more than factory) and are in the US, it’s reasonable to assume that other manufacturer suspensions with similar specs would also be capable of the increased load. Of course in the US the GVWR and GAWR are only set at manufacture time, so officially those numbers would still not be increased.
