Does anyone have a picture of what the rain gutters on an 80 look like without the plastic trim?

Is it easy to get off? Do I just sort of yank it off? Is there any drawback to doing it?

My Baja rack sort of crushed them anyway.

full

It pops off, sort of rolls off and upward. It covers a metal lip that you can see in this photo. Fairly certain it's purely cosmetic. Mine was flaky/chipped.

They come off pretty easily.

Pull it and never look back. You just roll them up and off. Start from the rear. Mine were weathered and getting f'ed by my rack. I also found where they wore through the paint at the base of the A pillar.

Go through an automatic car wash with roller brushes. That's how I got rid of mine! Maybe you'll get lucky and get the car wash to pay you for them, then you put that money towards a roof rack.

Does anybody happen to have the gutter trim part numbers handy? 1996 FZJ80

Appears to me the only reason they are on there is to cover a body seam just above the rear doors. If the look of the seam doesn't bother you just ditch them.

Don't know the part number off hand but it's easy enough to look it up. Last time I checked replacements were about $75 per side. I am sure shipping would cost you though due to the size of box required.

What am I looking at here? Not the trim/rain gutter but it looks like you fake-wood-paneled your windows?

🤔😝
