The Gulches trail ride is Saturday, February 18th.

Meet at the Western convenience store south of Woodland Park (Crystola) between 0800 and 0830hrs. Head for the trail at 0830hrs.

Last year was snowy on the approach, but not too difficult on the "Chicken Scratch Hill" obstacle.

Scroll through the trail guide, and see the trip report (from last year) with video at the bottom.

I'm planning on attending this one. See you out there. WRT conditions...I know Rising Sun club is planning a Gulches run next weekend and some info about conditions but that was a week or so ago...a lot could have changed. It didn't seem to have a lot of snow but some icy spots for sure.

My middle child is fighting a cough/sore throat, but feels "ok". As long as she keeps feeling "ok" and as long as I don't break something snowboarding, I'll see you guys Saturday. :steer:

The family and I camped out on Cedar Mountain Friday and Saturday night. Ran the all of the gulches with Chuck and family Saturday. The trails were all dry except for at the bottom of Hackett. The little canyon down there has some really thick ice, with water flowing crevasses through it. If you fall into one, you're winching. Happened to me. One tire stuck, and three tires on ice doesn't do much good. Water crossings at Hackett were not excessively deep.
Metberry had very good conditions, and was as beautiful as ever.
It did snow 3" on us Saturday night, but I don't think that will stick around, and will surely burn off of the sunny areas.
Not sure if I'll make it or not, but I'll do my best.

I was really looking forward to this one. I can't make it due to bad back and family issues. Have fun.

I was really looking forward to this one.

I was looking forward to seeing you again after so LONG, Leon! Get well.

An acquaintance on fB did a small group run out there for Valentine's Day. His photos suggested ground conditions are pretty clear.

Great time today! It was good to meet all of you. I am looking forward to the next outing. :)

Please post images or links to the videos when you have them up. Daniel (10) was not so good at still photography (or video). It was like he was making the blair Taco project. <shaky shakey>
