I custom make interior panels and had a couple of requests for the 70-series interior panels.

I would like to know if there is much of a demand for these. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Potentially very much yes. What is that material? I like the idea of a hard smooth interior panel. Less interested in a puffy upholstered one. It would let me remove my stock panels so they stay clean and also fit switches and outlets with no guilt. Also want to have a drop down table on the back door.

I had the same thought, but mine are from wood. Didn't pursue it because of what @beno said. Yours look very nice!

The set in the photo was for a BJ73 and the first set I made were for a BJ70 or 74 series...unsure which one. The first set was about 4 years ago and the second set in the photo was about 3 months ago.

I use a 3/16" foam padding and the cover is an automotive/marine grade vinyl. The panel board is called a waterproof panel that is popular to use for interior panels and provided by the auto trim suppliers. It is not abs or wood. You look at the panel and your first thought is cardboard.

I made a set of cj panels a few years ago and got a stain on the vinyl that I could not remove so I made another one and set the stained one outside my shop. I forgot about the panel until about a year later after it was setting outside in the weather, ice, snow, rain, and heat the panel looked like I had just put it outside with exception of surface dirt from the ground...no warpage and I was very surprised. I used to be reluctant to call it waterproof panels and was initially calling it water resistant. I have no problems calling it water proof.

I cannot say they would be water proof if they were under water for 24 hours. I believe there would be a bigger issue at hand then the door panels.

I'd be interested in a set for an FJ73 in grey but how much $$$ are we talking the AUD$ exchange is crap enough as it is :-(

I think you could find people here already doing that. I have seen 2-3 places doing that just in Perth.

I'd be potentially interested in a set for the front doors and the forward half of the rear/passenger area of a HJ75 Troop Carrier; I dig the padded look in the pic

Would these fit your HJ75?

Are the front doors pretty standard across the various models? Armrest and 6" speaker hole would be nice.

I would think the panels with electric window switches and such would bring more demand. The crank window ones still seem to be available to some degree from Toyota.

Any cost estimates? I have a BJ73 like pictured above, and would be interested in back cargo area and rear door panels (4 pieces) covered in plain gray cloth or vinyl, something simple and tough. Others probably fall in that groove too since it's the rear that takes most of the abuse and gets customized. Also how much do you think for a 6 piece set including front doors?

On the 6 piece set would you want the covering attached to the bare surface?
