GSMTR Volunteers Needed

Now that we've got our first major event of 2010 behind us, we need to focus on GSMTR. As we learned last year, this takes many people and many months to plan. We have a private GSMTR section at the top of our page here that is for volunteers only. If you can lend a hand, contact trollhole and he can give you access to the private GSMTR forum. There you will find all the action committees that need volunteers. Find one that interests you and let me or Marshall know.

I'm really counting on our UC members to step up and make this the best GSMTR yet. We already have the venue booked and there is excitement about this year like no other, across the entire TLCA membership.

If we all take just one thing to do we can spread the tasks around and make it a lot easier on Rick and I.

If anything just join in the discussions and help come up with some ideas.

Right now we don't have many quarterbacks for each of the areas of planning that we need.

• boombapslappy is heading up the parts swap.
• I have a caterer on board for Friday and Saturday nights
• smkymtn booked Matt Stell & the Crashers for Saturday night.
• trollhole, me, Carp, Belmont148 are taking portions of the raffle vendor list - still need 2 more volunteers.
• boot is helping on site from Tuesday on.

Everything else is open.

The one thing we really need to get started is the Raffle and Sponsor stuff. I've got a long list of vendors and that I will split it up among a team of volunteers to contact them.

Please let me know if you can volunteer to contact about 10-20 vendors in your free time. We'll have a "script" of things to ask them about, so you won't be unprepared. The main thing is to make the initial contact and make sure we get a good phone/email/name of the person to talk to about donating to our event.

I will volunteer, but I can't lead any committee right now, as we've got baby #3 due any time now. Plus I'll gladly do anything necessary at the event.

Put me down for contacting vendors for raffle/sponsor stuff. Let me know what I need to do. I figure this is something that I can help with, but if something comes up and can't make it, I won't let anyone down.

You know just in case my father-n-law takes a turn for the worst with his treatment.

Todd, we still have a section of our vendor list that needs to be contacted about donating raffle prizes. Can you call about 2 dozen vendors? If so, let me know and I'll forward the contact info to you. PM me your email addy.

Hey UC members!!!!! We could still use a hand contacting vendors for our raffle. Let me know if you can call a few.

Need someone to head up a side excursion to Burgess Falls State Park, just about 15 minutes west of Golden Mtn Park. We will probably do this Tues/Thurs/Sat mornings, so if you know you will be there and can just be the ringleader for a group of folks that want to go up, that would be great. This looks like a fun little diversion to some very scenic waterfalls.
