After being asked by STLCA. UC has agreed to host GSMTR. This will be our signature event. Lot's of planning to do. Over the next few weeks I will be working on an outline for the event and setting up positions for people to sign up for.

Just want to thank everyone for making UC what it is today and giving us the resources to host this event.

Also want to thank STLCA for giving us the chance to continue the tradition.

Wow cool deal. Maybe I will have to make myself make it next year! Sounds great!

This year was my first and I had a blast. I will say that I met a few folks who made the comment to me that they heard Upstate Cruisers were taking the lead next year and looked forward to it because they had heard such great things about the way that club runs things so folks are excited!

Maybe I will have my office stable enough by next year to stay the whole week.

Sorry i did not get a chance to meet everyone, had an office emergency and left Thursday.
I was counting on an internet connection when i got there and McDonalds was just too far away.

Marshall, make sure to include us LLC guys, like I said we will do what we can from this end. Had a blast this year

I enjoyed my all too brief visit Friday and "wheeling" down trail one. (Had a daddy's night out with my 6 yo scheduled) Looks like you guys had a blast. Perhaps we can remedy the lack of WyFi next year with the application of a few dollars. Perhaps those of us in the club who don't really wheel (that would be me) could lend some support in the area of base operations.

No doubt, UC was living the high life in the cabin. That was sweet. Saw the remnants of the once restored piggie, which was way too sad for words. Also, saw my first 70, as well as a couple of nice 40's and a 45 truck for sale in Murphy.

Big shoes to fill - I think Roger, Rob and the gang did a nice job this year (there was just a really great vibe), with Crawfords helping to give the event a stronger sense of organization. Hope to continue to see them be a part of the process - as they're work at Tellico is priceless. UC can do nothing but make this an even better event - and hopefully, thru the efforts of your stronger/larger membership help to offset gas prices and the economy and get it back up to 150 registered.

As a UC member - "I" want preference on early registration, and a chance to comment on any changes like developing a more organized State Line presence (recognition of those who don't like that drive - albeit a windshield would help, eh!) - as I like staying over there best, but thoroughly enjoyed the fact I finally made it to Crawfords for a few nights this year.

Will volunteer to help a day or so next year - if the need should arise.

Ditto what Bill says. Kudos to STLCA for starting this whole show and carrying it through for many years. This is the first one I've missed in 9 years. (Right now, I'm sitting in a 75' Hatteras in New York Harbor enroute from WPB to Chicago). I'd much prefer to be cruising schoolbus in my cruiser.

Like Bill, I am 11 hours drive south of the Upstate, but I will help in any way possible to pull this off. You guys up there in God's Country may be the front line, but those of us hanging back will be more than willing to help any way we can. May is coming up fast and I think plans need to be starting right now.

Keep us posted, Marshall. You have a great resource here in you your southern brothers.

Looking forward to GSMTR '09

Help

Marshall,
UC sure has come a long way since I joined nine years ago. I will do what I can to help in anyway to make this an outstanding event. I am sure different groups will soon need to be formed to start organizing. Keep us all in touch, like you always do. Everybody have a good week.

In an effort to organize GSMTR the officers have asked Woody to give us a private area in UC to help organize the event for next year.

Give us a little time to organize it and then we will start asking for volunteers to help in the planning.

2X on letting us LLC folks know, I for one need to know the dates as soon as possible. have to beg uncle sam to let me off for the whole event and possibly a day or two extra just for s&giggles. I have to request this prior to November of this year. Don't want to miss next year due to stupidity on my part. If I can get the time off will volunteer to do whatever the club needs. Within reason you perv's out there!:p

Great to see Upstate in the Driver's seat. Congrats to all. Let me know if I can help out.

Mike
