Hey Guys,
I'm trying to put together a small group buy for bumpers from Luke at 4x4Labs. We will need at least 5 bumpers and I'm trying to keep it close/local to Houston so we can have it shipped by pallet to one place to save on shipping as well. (For those not near Houston, you can still partake in GB, just no savings on freight I guess??)

I'm not sure on timeline but he says orders are about a month behind right now so I'd like to go ahead and order soon. I'd assume I could take all your orders and organize them for Luke, once he confirms each person's bumper choices, that individual will send payment directly to him.

This is my first time trying organize a group buy so if you've done one with Luke before or have any suggestions, feel free to chime in!

Rich,
We're trying to get a group order too. Check out the LSLC-Austin forum. So far, I think we have 2-3 here in Austin so we might be able to jump in with you guys. Are the orders behind on completed bumper or the DIY kits as well?

DIY kits are available ready to be pulled off the shelves. I didn't get a chance to ask him if discounts would be applied to DIY kits though...

What type of discount are we talking about?

emailed him about the DIY kits. PM'd on the discounts (don't know if I can post in the thread?)

Please be aware that these may take considerably longer to get than the quoted time. When I ordered they were 2 weeks out and it's currently on the truck for delivery 3 months later.

ack, 3 months? jesus.

Looks like 10% discount on the bumpers right now. Maybe we can get a little bit more with more orders?

Richard

I highly doubt any free shipping would be going on... these things are heavy!

confirmed with Luke, DIY kits are eligible for the 10% discount as well!

OK. Here's my order:

1) DIY dual swing-out bumper kit for an 80
2) DIY tire carrier kit
3) DIY 3 jerry can carrier kit

Let me know what I have to do. I might be able to pick it up in Houston, but can he provide a total shipped to commercial address in Austin (78750)?

Here are some answers regarding shipping from an email with Luke a few weeks ago.

>> Kit is sent in 3 packages.
>> Bumper is on a pallet.
>> About the same $$.

>>>> Shipping is between $150-$200 depending on where you are.
>>>>
>>>> If you ship both (built bumpers) on one pallet there would only be a weight difference for shipping charges so you would save quite a bit. They are both (kit vs built) the same weight and general size so the cost would be about the same for either a kit or a finished unit.

Dave,
I'll check with Luke on the shipping for you.

Q:> > How would you like payments to get the builds going?

A:> We take cards and paypal. I usually get $750 for each fully built, and
> for kits I'll have to see what we have and I'll get some kind of
> deposit
> before I put the kits together.

I might be interested if we can squeeze the discount a little more.

Any chance we can get in on the group buy discount for components? I need a pivot (maybe 2) and swing out latch. Also would be interested in the dual can holder attachment.

You can count me in for a group buy. I will need mine completely finished though, we discussed this on TLCC-houston forum. just wanted to show at least one more person in for this. see you at the monthly Rich.
