To the impatient lot here: You have to remember this is a SMALL project...both in the original and potential sales perspective...for a company like DT. If there were serious sales unit potential it would have been done long ago. Simple business economics.

We're damn lucky a company like DT even wants to make a run of 20!

Agreed.

I'm not buying these headers, but they are a screaming deal for such a low production run. I would never expect this guy to deal with more than one person. I've been a part of atleast a dozen group buys for semi-custom runs. The common rules on all of these was 50% deposit, flexible timeline, and only one contact for the project. Again, i'm just a disinterested 3rd party on this one, but I think some of the expectations on timing and communications are bit high for this one. I hope you guys can keep this one together.

^^ I agree with this- it makes sense. I am in on this buy, and I am also getting a little impatient, but I guess I'll just keep waiting. I will be glad to get these, and this is probably the only opportunity we'll ever get to buy them, especially at a pretty decent price. :meh:

Hey guys, think of this way... the longer you wait, the higher the possibility I might get in on it too! And hey, isn't it all about me? Just kidding, but I am looking forward to seeing how these turn out and what type of performance gain you get.

Just checked the Thorley Website and the 2000-2005 Tundra headers are currently on sale. Reg price is $545, but if you put DT in the Promo Code section, you get $54.50 off, making the total a whopping $490.50 + shipping.

???

So I guess these are basically the same price ($560 vs. $490) + $70 for R&D per set (25 X $70 = $1750)??

Not bad at all, and VERY tempting - ESPECIALLY considering that it's 20+ HP and 30+ ft-lb of potential (probable) gains. Under "normal" driving conditions (2300-3500 RPM under heavy acceleration, it's still 10 HP and 20 ft-lbs, and only gets better above that.

no updates?

just checked this thread again and after going back and reading almost every post I am tempted to jump in even though I dont need them but was wondering what do headers normally do to MPG's? Or did I miss that on the one page I skipped. ( got kinda tired of reading impatient posts)

The extra torque would be good for towing the snowmobiles but the trip to tahoe is already a ga$$$$$$$ sucker. Only averaging about 13.5 mpg now in the city.

Guess on MPG affect anyone.

Are there still spots available for this buy? Am I too late?

The headers haven't even been produced yet. Once they're finished (whenever that is), I'm sure there will be some people that don't follow through. Also, now that Thorley has a jig for these, I imagine it will be easier for them to keep a few around.

I would like to get in as well. Just need some estimate of when to pony up...

Thanks

Call Nick and get on the list. 951-739-5903. Reference the V8 Land Cruiser Header buy.

I just got off the phone with Nick and he said the headers will be back from the powder coaters by Wednesday. He will start calling for payment on Wednesday/Thrursday of this week.

Thanks for the patience!

Just talked to Nick

Nick just took my credit card information things are looking good

Keeping fingers crossed

Headers comin'

I sent nick an e-mail this am. He just called and I asked how tough the install was, he said not bad, fairly typical header job plan on half a day. He also said they should start shipping around Wednesday.

Thats all I needed to make an impulse buy so I did it and mine are on the way.... but my wifes gonna take the card away now for sure:doh:

At least ours won't be stock anymore!
