Anyone use the VL2 with an iPhone, or is it only for use with android systems? the website doesn't have a FAQ for VL2...I've reached out and I haven't heard back...the FAQ with the VL1 says you can use an iPhone "for bluetooth music streaming" but is that the only functionality with iOS?

I've got the bt-45 and it's just ok. The ridiculously loud "BLUETOOTH CONNECTED" makes me angry everytime i forget to turn the volume down before connecting.

Works very well with CarPlay and an iPhone, use it every day. It is itself an Android unit, but has some sort of app/connector that passes right through to the iPhone. Reconnects automatically when you get back in the car.

I've never tried bluetooth streaming with the VL2.

The VL2 Bluetooth & CarPlay (wired) work just fine on my iPhone 6 & 8.

I have the VL1 and CarPlay works great. They didn't have a cert from Apple to use Carplay at the time (late 2017) so you have to activate it by pressing something like 10+ times - just ask them on their chat. Also, make sure your USB is into USB 1 - It wont work if you're in USB 2.

Great! Thank you for the responses. I’ll probably go for it then...the maps/navigation and such use the CarPlay native apps, right?
I put the Sony double DIN CarPlay stereo in my HZT62 and it worked pretty well..

They do. Inside of CarPlay, you're using Apple's default apps, which work well.

I've used Carplay with both VL1 and VL2 with no issues. Also, you can disable the spoken features of the BT45. I think you hit the band button then hold the seek down button down, but you may want to check the manual. I disabled it, but I never found a way to lower the ring volume for incoming calls. It was otherwise a great solution.
