Brain Trust-

I recently acquired a 62’ FJ40 thats has FJ25 seats among other things. My question for the group is that I noticed there are no provisions for the Toyota grill emblem like found on my 64’ and 65’. Would this have been factory? This is stamped and titles as a 63’ on the VIN tag and I have seen several other 63’s without the emblem.

Thanks,
Steve

looks like it has the tall posts on the B pillar.
nice hood spear
looks like a stamped bezel
dual sided turn signals?
does it have the roof vent?
does it have the bolt down windshield latches?

Wow, Sweet! Yes, 25 seats for early ‘63, and door bead only part way across the door. Thanks for the seat pics, that’s great info. Does the VIN tag say Model 1963? Interesting an early ‘63 FJ40 has windshield hinges but an early ‘63 FJ45 has non-foldable windshield.

Looks like a Hupp heater. The bug-catcher window knob (white) should be flipped, no biggie. Early door handles, cool. Find this in Colorado?

nice the radiator has the rarer insignia on top
looks like the starter has been replaced at some point in its life

side note, my old 63 had 2 glass panels in the bi fold door, seems I've seen a few with only 1 glass lately??

I thought just non removable top 45's didn't come with hinges, my 63 is early and has a fixed windshield frame, the later ones had plates instead of hinges
I thought all removable top models had hinges, either 40 or 45

And yes, the throttle knob is above the choke knob, like in the owners manual 😂.

Still wondering where you dislodged this jewel from 😎 but get rid of that crap covering up the windshield vent.
