I am sure some of you have heard about running a diesel on Grease or used oil from the deep fryer.

Just completed an install and convertion kit on a Toyota Hilux with a 2.8 diesel here in Costa Rica.

Thought I would load a couple photos for you diesel drivers.

The owner has access to lots of free grease on the coast in the town they live in.
straight forward and simple install.

Pre heat is the most important part of this set up.

You have to make or buy a heat exchanger.
Preheat the oil in the 2nd tank will also help.
140-170' is the ideal operation temp.

Start up and purge with Deisel.
12 volt switch. On off.
Trick is to get in the habit of shutting down with a purge or your lines might get all bunged up with lard.

I will load a shot of the tank later this week.
Also will include the latest shots of the lines all insulated.

Will let you all know how the testing goes.

Cool! Any way to make the purge automatic (when you shut off the key, for example)?

With my luck - I would forget. One mistake could be a real problem.

Thanks

Rocky

Didn't see any, but hope you have a couple of filters someplace in that system. A chunk of french fry would sure clog the truck arteries.
