Yep, the whole thing! As you all know the windshield on the Hundy acts like a magnifying glass and I for one don't like the burning sensation it provides. I stopped by the tint place that did my two side windows and asked about doing the windshield with the ceramic tint. They offer a ceramic tint that blocks out major amounts of heat with almost no tint. They leave cutouts around the inspection/registration stickers so you can pay your yearly update tax and swap stickers without issue. Its not cheap at $200 but I am thinking it will be well worth it. Ill post up pics after I pick it up this evening.

I tinted mine 50% a year and a half ago. It was the best thing I have done for my 100, in terms of overall comfort and daily duty sitting in traffic with the sun on the horizon. Looking forward to your shots. What % did you go with?

The tint they put on the windshield is a UP75 by SolarGuard. Here is a pic of the cut out around the required stickers.

It is almost undetectable, prolly provides one shade of darkness.

Here is an article I found about the tint, pretty impressive, Solar Gard Ultra Performance 75 Window Films - Modified Magazine

Its gonna be decently hot here this weekend so I should be able to provide a review pretty soon. I will say that the passenger and driver side windows have been incredible for heat reduction.

I like Solar Guard. That's the tint I used and it came with a lifetime warranty. There is no coloration or aberrations even when wearing polarized sunglasses. Good stuff.

i had both my trucks done a wile back. it helps alot in south florida

Got it done at SunTint in Austin. I did call one other place and they quoted me the same price.

I'm taking a cross country trip next month and this was something I was thinking about doing before I leave. I'm in Austin for the weekend so may see if they can squeeze me in, thanks for the tip!

Make sure you go to a 'friendly' inspection center b/c in Texas it isn't legal to apply tint below the ASI mark at the top of the windshield.

If an officer tickets me or scratches the tint, which I understand they will do it the tint is too dark, I guarantee you I will be back at the tint shop...

I would think that a legit tint soup would have nothing to do with it if it wasn't legal. :/. They did provide a receipt.

^ That looks good. I have a smudge in mine, not sure if it all hasn't dried yet or if its sap on the outside. If its in the tint then I will have them redo it and I will get a piece of plexiglass to install the inspection and registration stickers on and have them tint the whole windshield.

I tinted my windshield last year. I ended up having to replace my windshield and after a few days without tint, I drove straight over to the tint shop. Best $100 spent.

Those sensors, the little half dome ones, are for your headlights. I don't leave mine on auto so it doesn't matter.

^Learn something new every day, thanks!

$200 for a windshield? Geeeez I guess prices in AL aren't that bad after all! I used to run a couple local audio/tint shops and with LLUMAR or Solar Guard tint we would charge around $50-75 to tint a whole w/s. I would imagine ceramic would jump the price to maybe $100-125. We charged $200 to tint a whole suv with just non ceramic tint. Could be that you live in a big city. I have heard that tint prices get higher in big cities.

The ceramic tint really takes the price up. I had it installed yesterday and paid 525 for the entire 100 (including the windshield and moonroof and all other windows). I could have done the same thing with non-ceramic for 250. But on the drive home after installing I knew it was the right choice!
