Woah..... An unsolicited Monkey spank.

I think there's more than tech in here. Lessons learned all the way around. BBQ, how long have you been without insurance and who was your provider prior to letting your policy lapse? I'm curious to know if they'll help.

Before you know what you need, you really just need to start taking things apart and figure out what's broken and what's salvageable. There are enough folks on here with access to used parts that you can get yourself up and running again.

Are you in a local TLCA chapter? If so, I'm sure you can get some wrenching help from them.

I was sent notice on the day of my surgery stating that I had 22 days to pay. State Farm told me Friday that they had left messages for me about the upcoming cancellation, but my wife failed to tell me of the messages. I was not covered for 6 days and I have State Farm.
Yea, I was a founding member of our local chapter.

Yikes, from one restaurant owner to another I really feel for you! Just going on 30 yrs of business this year, and im just now finding out how vulnerable life can be.

Take some detailed pics of the suspension and post them up. Maybe even throw a fix day with a BBQ. Where are you located?(I only post off of the iPhone app)

O man I am sorry to see this , what a hard turn of events. I have a pair of TC UCA if your in need , let me know.

Sorry to hear man. You guys who are giving him a hard time are pretty out of line. Lots of douchebaggery here. This is an all around bad situation to be in that could easily happen to anyone. I've missed premiums from time to time and could have easily been unlucky. As far as posting, it's absolutely relevant. We see how the vehicle handles different impacts and what repair costs are. As the vehicles get older and cheaper, we will see how easy it is to total one.

I have a 16" wheel (though i doubt yours is seriously damaged based on the pic) and an outer tie-rod end that I would be willing to part with for cheap if needed.

I think it's clear people are willing to help. We've got a good community here. As soon as you realize what you need, post it up, we'll figure out a way to get it to you and get you back on the road.

x2. I'm absolutely game to help out. Good things come around. Hang in there!

Man what a bummer, sorry to hear it Mike.

Mike,

I have a spare CV axle that you are welcome to have if it helps. I will reboot and re grease for you. Send me a text if you want it.

Nick.

that actaully used to be mine, wich used to be Brocks, that thing really gets around. :)

Mike, really sorry to hear about your accident and recent troubles. I truly hope everything turns around for you. I hope the restaraunt gets back and running too. That place is truly a Charleston icon.

Best of luck

What a crappy situation, Im glad no one was hurt...that would have compounded the problem. Looks like a group of us need to head to SC for some BBQ and a wrenching party!

Sorry to hear of the bad luck BBQ. I would seriously try to talk to State Farm and plead your case. I've had State Farm for years and they have been excellent to deal with. I probably could switch to someone slightly cheaper but won't chance it as they've always taken care of me. You may still be able to pay the missed payment and be covered. Good luck; stay positive and glad to hear no one was hurt.

Also, post up any parts you may need once you dig into repairs. I have a pretty good inventory of Land Cruiser parts and may have something that you could use.

Sorry to hear.
I had a similar damage on my 2000, only with higher speed, bigger car, and from the front/ slightly side. Bottom ball popped and went through the wheel. Anyhow, the point is: The frame was dented as well, just behind the rear A-arm bushing, so be aware.

Hello,
I am so sorry to read about your mishap. I lived in Chucktown for 6 years immediately after graduating from UGA. The traffic there is bloody bonkers as it is down here in Coastal Florida.

I am so glad that you were able to walk away from it and I only wish I had any spare parts to offer. It speaks volumes to the type of folks that are here that are doing what they can to help assist to get your rig back on the road. I wish you and your truck the speediest of recoveries.
All the best,
Jack

Hey, so is SC a "No Fault" state? In other words, does their insurance cover their own car? Or are you liable? In Michigan we're a "no fault" state so their insurance would take care of their car, and you're only responsible for your Hundy...which still sucks, but sucks a little less...and it does seem that aside from a few flies in the ointment, there are some good peeps here ready to help you out. If I had any spare parts, I'd send them to you without a second thought. I'm new to my Hundy so I haven't gathered any yet. Keep us updated...sorry to hear about this...but I can assure you it will be nothing but a distant memory eventually...

Fellas, Most everyone here has reminded me of why I love this community and yalls generosity is much appreciated. My intentions were not to seek out free parts, but, I know that is just how most people here are. I greatly appreciate the uplifting comments.

BBQ really hate to hear that man. That sucks.

I have no spare 100 parts but any other way I can possibly help from here just let me know.
