Any good shops in the [deleted] Woodlands / Montgomery County vicinity? Getting to the age (the trucks and me!) where I’m done with the dealer. Time for some pretty big maintenance items on the LC, and getting close to a few on the GX.

I know this is an old thread.

Just called Duggys today. Needed to replace globes on 2009 LX570. Have done enough research and bumpiness, 140k and other stuff is telling me its the globes.

Forgot to take the name of the person I talked to. It seems - the shop would
- have to see the car first before can quote the labor for changing globes - so two trips for me.
- prefer to source the parts and not use customer parts

Is that normal? Is there a reliable shop that can just quote/ do the job.

Hello .

I will give Jesús , Jeboost , a call:

I can't speak for him, but he is a nice and honest mechanic.

Good luck ! 🫂

Call Jesus at Teq Auto Solutions. He’ll work with you. Thank us later.

I took my 06 LX470 to Duggy's in 2023 for a belt job, because I wanted to establish a relationship with them.
They charged me for heater t's, serpentine belt, drive belt, tensioner, tensioner pulley, water pump, etc. pretty standard stuff.

Well not 10 months later did my tensioner catastrophically fail while driving and I had to get it and the belts replaced again.

Unless I get an explanation, I'll never take my car back to Duggy's.

I've used Teq Auto. Jesus is great. I was in a bind and needed to have the AHC work done when they were not an option in August. If you are confident you are not losing fluid and don't have a pinhole leak in your lines, your height control pump still functions, but your ride is bouncy, you have a globe problem. I sourced four globes OEM Japan; there are several options. Current pricing should land somewhere around $550 to $675. Buy two 2.5 liters of the OEM fluid. If you can find a shop that will take your parts it is a three hour job. I had my local mechanic do the job and I'm back to limo status on my 200K LX 470. Many places that do great work won't accept outside parts. Javiers won't even touch the AHC system. Bottom line, if you are not losing fluid it might be worth doing what I did and find a local mechanic and source your own parts. I got out the door for $1000.
