I apologize in advance for asking the question "if it's a good deal or not" because I used to hate seeing dozens of threads seemingly every week in the 100 forum asking the same questions over and over, so I hope this forum doesn't get bogged down with the same tedious conversations!
I am buying a vehicle for my wife, and after looking a 200 first then exploring everything from a GX460 to an Audi A6 to a Subaru Outback, I've come full circle and am close to pulling the trigger on an LX570. Although I like the LC, all the ones I've seen for sale locally have been beat up and command a premium over the LX. To be honest, I like the interior a little better on the LX, and they seem to be much, much better taken care of. I've also been impressed by how almost everyone raves about the suspension on the LX, and since this will be a pavement pounder I'm not concerned about the off road upgrade limitations.
The vehicle I'm looking at is unfortunately out of state, so I would not be able to drive it until I'm there in person. I have been chatting with an extremely helpful sales guy at the dealership however who has been taking individual pics of anything I'm concerned about and texting them over to me. It has by far my favorite color combo - silver exterior with sand interior and is truly in astounding condition. When I showed my wife the pictures she thought it was brand new. It is a 2009 with 86k miles, and they have it listed at $37.9k. It is a one owner, fully serviced (at Lexus dealers) car from the south with perfect history. It doesn't sound like there is much room in the deal for negotiating, and when I said I would be paying cash to see if that would help get a better price he said they could only knock about $250 off
Although I think that's a fair price, I love finding great deals. There is somewhat of a premium to be added for one owner clean history, but I'm wondering if this price is just average even with all the "pros" this one has. We are truly not in any rush, so time isn't a constraint that's moving this decision forward. I mostly like this one because the colors are perfect, it appears to be in perfect shape with perfect history, and the price is fair. Where do you guys think this one falls on the "deal" scale?
