I am looking to order the BFG KM2 Mud Terrains in 315/75/16 and the price I was quoted for 5 was $1270 OTD. (or $1015 for 4)

Anybody found or heard of a better deal?

No

but then again I'm not lookin.

Mounted or Not? Either way the price sounds great compared to estimated costs I read about a couple months ago of 240-260 ea. for the 315/75/16's

If that is mounted and balanced it is a very good price. $250/tire mounted/balanced is excellent for a good 35" MT. If it's not mounted and balanced you may just be seeing small variances in market (MSRP) pricing.

If that's the tire you really want, given what appears to difficulty acquiring them, I'd pull the trigger. There's no such thing as a $50 issue when it comes to spending on 35" daily driven MT tires given the realistic treadlife.

I'd get a price check at Wal Mart. The last set of BFGs I bought there and they were about $20 a tire cheaper. Costco is great too because their road hazard, mount, balance is really cheap. One more thing, 4 wheel parts will dicker on prices if you tell them you are going to shop around. Be prepared to tell them the other prices you've found and they might just beat them. When I bought my Toyos they knocked $22 each off the tires when I told them I could get them cheaper somewhere else.

Vista,

I haven't priced 315's, but Pep-Boys has a sale sometimes, buy 3 get one free that's pretty legitimate. Their selection of BFG's has gone down lately but I was stunned at the price of 265/75-16's for the mini-truck - $133 each and then I got a check in the mail for $133 for the rebate! Same tire that some other store (read:4WP) wanted to sell me for around $175 or so. It can't hurt to ask.

I took my estimate sheet with the price on it from P/B's to another major tire store and they couldn't match the price and told me I'd better snap them up, the price seemed to good to be true, but it was for-real.

Dan.

That is the tire, mount, balance, disp fee and tax. Luckily, at $250 each, they are not daily drivers and should last a while. My last trail rig only ran about 7k per year.

FYI - My Local W-M and Sam's club wouldn't mount 285's BFG AT's on my Superduty because they weren't OEM size. They said it was against policy. Of course, I still bought them , I just took them to the ford dealer to be mounted.

A local tire shop here in the San Diego area. I called Americas Tire and they were $1500+.

Costco will not mount the tires since they are not OEM size.

Even if I ordered them yesterday I would not have them by Calico.

So he is willing to help out with some sliders? Without re-routing the exhaust?

Yup and yup. They will be cool. I told him how I wanted them, and he said it is doable. Sweetness.

It depends where you are. Costco repealed it's national policy recently on mounting different sizes other than Manuf. specs. The stores in Idaho were taking a beating. Their stupid website still only allows you to see tires for your vehicle using manuf. sizes.

I priced the exact same tire about 3 weeks ago at "Discount Tires" here in Columbus, OH. The price was $255.00 for each tire plus $12.00 per tire for mounting and balancing. They said it would only take 4-5 days to get the tires. Even though I have been to San Diego many times I don't remember if you have "Discount Tires" out there.

97-80 locked, yet to be bastardized

costco has them for $238 each thats including installation and the road hazard warranty. but you have to carry in the wheels.also if you buy them b4 feb. 3 you will get an additional $60 off if you have the coupon.

Hmmmm....also a good deal if they will actually do it.

if you dont want to carry in the wheels , the carry out tire price is $10 less per tire.

I finally canceled my order from 4Wheel Parts after 4 weeks and went with Discount Tires. Each tire cost $208, if you want free replacement warranty, that will be an extra $39.25 ea. plus $13 ea. for lifetime spin balancing. No warranty plus spin balance = $221 ea. tire or $260.25 ea. with the free replacement. You also get a $60 rebate on top of that! These prices are for 5-LT315/75R16 BFG KM2s. ;)
