OK guys, for those of you who have:

An 80
Front ARB bumper
3-inch lift
35-inch tires

Going through the Crack I hear your driver's front of the AEB scrapes and drags pretty hard as it suppports the front end into the crack? Have any of you actualy damaged or dented the bumper getting through?

FOLLOW UP QUESTION:

Same truck with Slee or Kaymar or whatever REAR bumper?

Have you ever damaged or dented that on the Crack?

OK, 5-6 inch lifts don't count. ;p

Mine:
80.
Front ARB bumper.
2.5" OME
Slee rear bumper
33" (then)

Scrape on front and scrape on back. Didn't care -- all part of doin' crack.

Scrapes, but no damage.
Bring the 100...punk :flipoff2:

80

Front: Stout Equipment
Rear: Slee
33's
863/850 with a 1 inch packer in the front

Scrapes, both ends, minor, noisy.

The trick is to ease through as opposed to being in a hurry. Basicly you stick the front in the rock and skid up it. Then you let the back down slow til the rear bumper sits on the rock and then drag it off.

If you hit it hard, you, well, hit it hard......:D

Frickin geeze. Am I that transparent to you Doug?

All my close Cruiser Club friends (with 80s) told me in a pow wow a couple weeks ago that my 100 would have no problems whatsoever running those Moab trails. They said that my only limitation was my larger size. (I was shocked that non-100 owners admitted that...though these guys wheel with me all the time and know the 100 can do it.)
They cautioned me though about the front ARB and the fact the the 100 sticks out farther. They figure it'll take quite a beating supporting that weight into the crack.
I don't mind the scrapes (heck, I need touch ups already) but I don't favor bending the thing up (done it once already and I don't think we can straighten it again).

Amando ran his 100 on the Spike last year, did fine.

Shotts, best thing is to bring a trailer with rocks. We will stack them and build a road through the crack and you won't scrape. But here is the kicker, you have to collect all the rocks on your own when you are through. :D

Deal. Wait! Maybe we can drop a couple of 35-inch spares in the crack so I can make it?

I didn't scrape the front, gassed it a bit and did scrape the rear on the exit. My set-up is similar to yours. Amando did do the typical 100 series pick up the wheel thing on the exit. :flipoff2:

Sounds like wheeling with Rover guys. How many Rover guys does it take to cross an obstacle? Three, two guys to stack the rocks and one guy to open the wine to toast the new road.

I have seen a number of 60’s on 35’s go across the crack, rear always drags but slow is key. For damaging a front bumper, only if one Baja’s it across the crack. But if they did that the bumper would be the least of their worries.

Hey John a couple of these and you wont get a scratch. :D

Sorry John you will need to buy YOUR own :flipoff2:

I can't find a 100-series one? It needs to support the added weight of the 100 and the driver. :)

If you are worried about the superior 100 series frame then i would not be. I have run it in the older days with 33, 2.5 inch OME and just a front ARB bumber with minor scuffing(80 series). If you are worried about the custom paint then leave the junk at home and bring the beater. Of course you will never live down the shame of leaving the 100 series at home with all the boasts you have made about the superior 100 series. later robbie
