I am running Terra Grappler 295's I love them. They stuff great and rub a little on the pinch weld.

Agree, I need either 285/70/18's or 295/65/18's in AT'S, these are LTX MS Michelins with around 35k miles on them and still look new :(. Came on the LX when I bought it so I'm going to have to dump them. Think discount tire would give me anything for them in trade?

I think it depends on the purpose your your 100. If you are not going off the rd why bother? You prob get great mpgs and zero road noise with added comfort to boot! But if you are hitting the trails or you are wanting the 'look' I would ck with Discount or just sell on CL.

But you are running new gears (sig says 4.88s) and have you hammered or dremelled the pinch weld?
Not sure I want it go that route....

It's all about the look. Mine is a Mall cruiser, about 5-6k miles a year.

Lol yep Looks is what stirs the emotion and passions. And it's not that you have to go on a trail but it's the ability to do so if you wanted. Lol

I explain it best with sport cars, I don't have to go 187mph but is nice to know I could if I wanted. (I wouldn't say that to the judge tho ;)

I regeared well after the tires went on and mainly because I wanted lockers.. Depends on what you want to do with your truck if it is worth it to you or not, for me the rub was worth the extra clearance underneath. I have not hammered the pinch weld yet, but I will eventually.

How about a 305/60/18? Probably not enough sidewall for harder off roading? I saw @TeCKis300 LX and it looks really good and I'm considering these for ours (for looks mostly as this is kid transporter and maybe light trail/expo use).

I cant get the link to post but Tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc is a great resource. It lets you compare any two sizes of tires and then brakes it down into inches. It will also let you observe the tires sizes you put in the calculator on top of each other and side by side to see the size difference. I have spent a ton of time with it when I chose the tires for my trucks.

I just installed 295/70/18 Nitto Terra Grappler AT's on 18x8 Tundra/Sequoia alloys. No re-gearing, no body lift, no spacers, no significant fender trimming, no rubbing, Totally happy.

Suspension:
JT's Super Deluxe 100 Series Suspension (OME T-bars & Progressive/Medium Rear Coils, Carls's UCA's, Slee diff drop & Icon 2.5" shocks http://www.justdifferentials.com/JTOTLC100-SUPDLX-D-p/jtotlc100-supdlx.htm

Added weight: 500 lbs of BIOR bumpers & Sliders

FRONT = 21"from center of axle to bottom of wheel welL

REAR = 22" from center of axle to bottom of wheel well

The 2957018 basically a 34x11. I have run about every kind of tire there is on my old hundy with similar suspension/ gearing set up and I like these because it's the best combination of good clearance and not having to deal with the issues that come with 12" + wide tires (more noticeable loss of power, rubbing etc). The power loss with the 295's is negligible and definitely NOT worth re-gearing over.

As for trimming your inner fender wells...I t takes 10 minutes of cutting back useless plastic. You want bigger tires? Get over it :D. It's not a big deal at all.

Any chance of a pic of the area you cut? Not a big deal but I rather have a guide instead of me just cutting randomly. So no issues with the pinch weld huh? I did see a write up in Tacoma World ( @Motleyone thanks) on how to, but it was a Taco. Seems no big deal, and cheaper and faster than lifting the body with blocks.

@92LXAZ
I think I need more sidewall for when I let air out, thats the compromise going 18s vs 16s. I have a great sidewall rt now with my 295/75/16!
I just want a more updated look.....

Yeah that's what I figured. I have 315s on my 80 so I know what you mean.

That is one Badass looking Hundy!! So your saying with my 2" OME lift, buying 295/65/18 Duratec's install and rubbing will be no problem?

Not exactly:). I cant comment on the specific tire you mentioned, only the ones I installed... Same thing with the lift...if you just have the OME T-bars, rear springs & shocks, I'm sure that will be a little different from my set-up with the UCA's & Icon's. Either way, I would think a little bit of trimming of that inner wheel well plastic (the little bump that sticks out right at the bottom rear where the inner fender well meets the bottom of the fender) will be necessary. From my experience with these rigs, the key to limited rubbing is a more narrow tire...anything over 11.5" wide will give you more grief from what I've seen.

Thanks checked on another thread, owner stock LX470 no lift 295/65/18 fits no rub. Think they are 11.6 inches wide, same as the 295/70/18's just not as tall.

(All below are 18" wheel tires)

I have the 295's on my 100. Regular OME 2.5" lift. I run 1" spacers with mine.

Power loss is not super noticable, I had 305's on my last truck and I liked the lower/wider tire a bit better...a little less noticable all around.

I think the 275's are the best riding overall tires. Almost 33's but a bit more narrow and less rolling resistance. I may get those and the hub-centric Slee hubs when the new BFG AT's come out later this year.

We mostly use my 100 for the 3rd row seat and camping these days so the 34's are a bit much.

Love how clean it looks. Theres zero distractions to the line of the 100. Im starting to regret the snorkel

I did purchase a snorkel and could not install for mostly the same reason. The snorkel on my 80 looks at home.
