its a great idea, but i hope more is being done in the very near future. crime is going to make a very large leap if the economy really is slowing, think about it, there are alot of unskilled/semi skilled workers here, legal and illegal from the boom and fast growth we have been going through, if it really is slowing many will turn to drugs and crime to make a living i think.

i dont know, i'm not an economist.
I have often thought an economic down turn would push more people back across the border, willingly or otherwise. Its optimistic to think illegals would leave willingly, even if there is bad economic times. First they are always willing to work for less than an American worker. Second when the US economically sneezes...the rest of the world gets economic pneumonia. Even at lower wages life would be better in the US where social safety nets are plentiful.
What would change is the democrats position on immigration...they'd would be afraid of loosing their constituents. I'd be interested in a democrats position on it.

Yeah right... I bought gas for $2.07 at CHEVRON (The 80 only gets the good stuff

The DJIA hit 12,100 and CLOSED above 12,000 again.

The economy is going great. But I hate going to Home Depot and having guys jumping in front of my truck looking for a day's work. They need to have a job before they get here or stay home.
But, if we shut the border there will be a revolt in Mexico in 2 - 3 years, we better be ready to back them up!
