My harness (ex wire) should arrive today...was wondering if anyone might have a link to the wiring diagram of the GM tilt column??? Found the wiring for the wipers, and found one that was an acrobat file, that I couldn't seem to open.... Any help, suggestions etc. Would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry... That should say EZ wire. Damn I phone auto correct.

Wouldn't it somewhat depend on the year and vehicle of the GM column? I have the manual for 96 trucks. It may be useful for a few other years in that era, but I doubt that it would be universal. Any idea which vehicle and year the column is from?

If the GM column you have still has the factory connectors then most wiring harnesses (EZ, Painless, etc...) simply plug in with no wire splicing necessary. If your column doesn't have the factory connector then you'll need to do some research. If necessary when you get to that point, I can cross reference how my EZ harness matches up to stock GM wire colors.

I installed an 82 Firebird tilt column in my '73. Go to your local GM service or even try the library for older manuals. The service tech photocopied the wiring diagram for me for my year of car. In 2 weeks I'm home, and have this info on my other computer. If you're still stuck, PM me and I'll dig up what I've got.
Did you keep both plugs from your column? If not, go get the other half, it will make merging wires a whole lot easier. The beauty of GM is they didn't change the wiring or the colours very much through a whole lot of years, so any wiring diagram you get will get you going.
Hint: all 10 ga wires are associated with ignition. I never got my 4-way flashers to work, too hard to connect the column mounted 4-ways with the stock dash mounted 4-ways. Maybe someone else who sees this might have a solution for that.

Thanks gents. The column is out of an 86 camaro, and when I pulled it, I clipped the wires so that the plugs were connected. I think ahead sometimes.
