Question - does anyone know of a glass installer or company in the San Francisco Bay Area that can do a FJ60 windshield install? I had to replace mine a couple of years ago and was chasing leaks since. I have concluded that it is leaking from the windshield seal and I need to have it removed and redone.

I do not trust the outfit that did the replacement in the first place to make it right. I used an OEM window seal and even got new chrome locking strips for it (as the installer said they needed to be replaced) when it was done. I will go back and get a new seal from Toyota but only want to go through this once more.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I am located on the east bay but am willing to travel to have the right person do the job. I want this done right as I am going to put a new carpet in and do not want any more mold issues.

mudrack - Sonoma, CA - he does the classic stuff out of his shop. I like gary but he is a personality.

I know Gary he has done a ton of work for me. I will give him a call. I did call Valley Hybrids and they told me to go to safelite. I am trying to avoid that if possible so I don’t just get a random person.

I have a guy in Vallejo that is pretty good. But by no means an expert in land cruisers.

Safelight in concord on monument has a few talented employees. They set thousands of windshields a month. I am sure they are more capable than most. I would find a good how to guide and have the installer read it.

I’ve used these guys for my 100 twice (both times after rock damage). Good results and fair pricing. They have a shop in San Leandro but obv their main thing is mobile. Have not used them for the 60, so I offer no guarantees on that.

Thank you for the recommendation! I actually live in San Leandro so I am going to give these guys a call.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will copy the relevant FSM pages. I think the last guys did not apply the seal correctly. Based on my MUD search - this seems to be a common issue. I had factory original glass until a large bird smacked the windshield at night someplace between Paso Robles and King City. Shattered the whole thing. Luckily I did not crash
