I contacted Gibson Performance Exhaust today, hoping to convince them there is significant need for headers for the 100 Series Land Cruisers. They got back to me and agreed! All they need is a willing Land Cruiser for a week to do their development work on.

Gibson is in Corona, California. If anyone is interested, they would provide the first set of headers for free in return. Call Shawn at 951-372-1220. I would do it in a heartbeat if I weren't 3000 miles from them.

My 2000 has the exhaust manifold leak and I just can't believe I have to go to all that trouble to pull them out and NOT replace them with something better!

Go for it PeterKim! I couldn't do this for a while. It sounds like you just need to call the contact person and see if you can work something out?

Let us know what they say.

Did anyone ever take their cruiser to Gibson for header development? I'm getting desperate. This exhaust leak of mine is driving me crazy.

Any comments on the Borla cat-back system? Does it include the crossover pipe? I assumed it did since that would be 'cat back'. The stock muffler is HUGE, so I'm a little concerned about the Borla being too loud inside the truck.

I have the TRD cat-back,which is the same as the borla.I am about to install this week.I will take some picture of the two to compare them.i will get a report on the sound level.
The exhaust does not come with a cross over pipe. The muffler has two pipes, one attaches to the stock crossover pipe.
I was think the same thing yesterday, wondering how well this project is coming along.

The Borla is far from loud. Nice, but definitely not intrusive. Actually I would prefer it a little louder. It does a nice rumble and sounds great when you get on it.

Well the guy with one post said he was going to follow up on this:rolleyes:

But we haven't heard from him...

I guess I'll do this as soon as I can be without my truck for a week...

Well i finally install my TRD/Borla exhaust today after waiting 5 months. It was not bad,i had to cut off all the stock bolts and one clamp.I had to spray some lube on this joint to get it apart.
Everything bolted up back with no problem and i used the stock gasket and a new band clamp instead of the "c" clamp that comes with it.
It sounds pretty good,it's not loud.It is so light compare to the stock one

Here are some pictures.

s***, that looks identical to mine. I thought Borla modified the newer ones?

Cheers on getting it on.

Hell I will ship mine out there for a free set of headers :)

Nothing is stopping you;)

Mine is a daily driver and I don't have a 3rd vehicle anymore so I have to see if I can swing this...

Well i am empress,Wth the AEM intake and exhaust, the throttle response is a lot better at mid range and just cruiseing hit the gas and it goes,no waiting for over drive.:bounce:.The headers would make things more interesting.
