Back in the office today folks and will be here today, tomorrow (Saturday) and I will be coming into work Sunday to play catch-up and get things squared away. I ask for your patience while I catch-up.

I will be going into surgery this coming Monday and will be out of the office for four days. I have held off long enough to the point where I am struggling on a daily basis.

So, during that time, if you have part needs, please give my good friends CruiserDan or Sam Stewart a buzz and they will take good care of you.

Just a reminder folks:

New Year' Eve holiday is coming up here. I will be here from 12pm-5pm on Weds., and then won't be back till Friday of this week. I will be off on Saturday, January 3rd and back in the office January 5th.

With the holiday mid week, parts that back order to the Japan warehouse will take a few days longer to get to me here in ATL. Please allow for that if you plan on ordering anything and it back orders (i.e., not available at my depot).

Finally, a number of customers have been calling and asking about a Toyota parts price increase on January 1, 2015. This is not necessarily a price increase; it is called a price adjustment and prices can go up or down depending on many, many different factors (most importantly the value of the Japanese yen). We'll see if prices increase. A lot of times, they go down.

Toyota has quarterly price updates to the "tape" as we call it. Prices go up and down and sometimes not at all. For example, H55F transmission prices have gone down a bit in the past 4-5 years.

I've never seen a wholesale "prices are going" up message from Toyota. Prices are always determined by things like the exchange rate between the yen and the dollar, commodity pricing, price of fuel to transport parts, price of labor, price of tooling and infrastructure, and price of raw materials.

This guy knows his stuff!

Living out east has been interesting, but I have made great friends here in ATL and have reunited with old friends on the East Coast.
