Someday, some how, I'd love to do a carb "shootout" with a Jim C. rebuilt with desmog, a Weber and the Downey-tuned Holley. Of all the 2F configurations I tried, the Weber was the best off road, but the Holley made the most power and also achieved the best milage once or twice although the 350 I have now beats them all. (The stocker ran so badly that it hit the trash can almost instantly.) It would be fun to run them all one at a time on the same rig, run some dynos, and do some incline/off-camber testing for flooding, etc. That would be interesting to try.

effjay60 what was the turn around time from JimC right now?

 13 weeks for my carb, dizzy and 4 weeks for my smog pump eliminator. I bought a core carb here on mud and a dizzy on ebay to send to Jim so I could still drive it in the meantime

but really worth it. On the way to work I have to turn onto the highway at the very bottom of a long steep incline...used to only be able to hit 45mph, now I'm doing 60mph and still pulling. booyah:steer:

Call Cruiser Dan and get a brand new one from Toyota for not a whole lot more. :D

A new smog-calibration carb won't do ^that.^
But a new carb will start & run reliably.
