The only appreciable physical difference between diesel and gas systems is the filler neck. Diesel necks accept the bigger filler nozzle

Where does the sub tank mount? Does the filler neck have two holes in the same opening on the side of the truck or dose one tank feed the other tank, or are there two openings in the side of the 80?

It mounts below the rear cargo area, directly above the stock spare tire location. Filler has one hole just like yours is now and goes into a "Y" where the gas nozzle sticks inside, separate feed line to each tank.

I'm interested to see how this turns out. I would really like to add some range without the hassle of carrying around jerry-cans. IIRC, the OEM sub tank is 14USG, which equates to about 3 jerry-cans.

That and basically all the piping and wiring. The diesels and early gas models (3fe) were a solenoid switching system where the main feed to the motor is alternated, unlike the 1fz gas versions which has sub fuel transferred to main.

To do the diesel setup with mostly new parts costs $$$$$$$$

Now does this tank come with the special fill neck or is that an extra part. If it doesn't come with the fill neck does your vendor have a line on them too, and how much extra for the fill neck?

Ok, the fellow helping me with this has set me three tanks at this time so I will contact the first three respondents.
