So is there any aftermarket skids for the 100 series gas tanks? Mine is Rusted pretty good and the factory one is pretty thin. Searched and found Asfir but don’t think it will work on our US rigs

I looked into it and there’s nothing in the US. There was some company overseas that makes it but I figured shipping something that big here won’t be cheap so might as well make something custom.

If your's is not terribly dented, then I'd just go with stock again... unless you live in a beach house in SoCal where rust can be an issue.

I’m just not sure how well it will hold up to rocks which it will see. Seams like a good market for a
Company to get into

Could have sworn someone like Trail Tailor would make something like that?

This picture shows the fronts skids that have been repainted/touch-up many times. The slider outriggers are also bent. But the muffler is original and hardly shows a dent. The fuel tank skid shows scrapes and small dents but it hardly takes a big impact. Of course, YMMV. If you wanted to spend money, I'd resleeve the rear driveshaft instead.

Fair enough, appreciate the input

I made something for hammersaurus lex (in my build thread somewhere near the end). The problem is the lack of mounting attachment points IMO. The stock one is literally just sandwiching the fuel tank - all the load transfers through the tank into the body

For sure, looks like it’s a stock replacement

I've been looking for aftermarket too but looks like oem is all we got. @ASFIR 4X4 c'mon, I bet you'd sell more gas tank skids than you'd think. We have no options other than oem.

Will keep you posted with more details as we go :)

Thanks again for the heads-up!

What year is the vehicle? I believe the OEM gas tank skid plate designs vary from year to year (different in the way they mount). I could be wrong but when I researched this a long while ago that’s what I remember reading.

I grew up in Rishon. Didn’t know you guys were in Israel! Back when I was there (90s), the biggest car on our block was a Dodge Neon. I remember drooling over it when I was a kid haha. I believe you when you say 100s are rare over there.

Really?! We have a location right outside of Rishon (in Moshav Mishmar-HaShiva), that's really cool!
