My cruiser has been running a bit rough during the last two days, so I decided to check the usual vitals (Oil, ignition, air filters, etc). The timing is ok at 3deg. TDC. The sparks, cap/rotor, cables are all new (about 1000 miles since I replaced them).
I checked the oil and the level was fine, however I did noticed that the oil has a smell of gasoline.
Is this something to be concerned about? Could this be the reason why is running a bit rough?
Anyone has this happened to them? The solution?

Thanks,

I don't know what your problem is but YES IT IS A PROBLEM, do a search on gas in oil, I think this has come up before but I don't remember the solution.
Good luck,
Dan

Could be caused by quite a few things. If the vehicle was recently difficult to start and was cranked repeatedly then you could have gas washed the cylinders and deposited said fuel in the crankcase. Another common cause is an injector that is stuck open. This will spray fuel continually into one cylinder and cause the gas in the oil. This can also result in poor idle. If you have a stethoscope you can listen to each injector and monitor the opening and closing of the injector when you hear the "clicks" of the injectors internals.
