discovered a gas leak from around the filler coming off my mudflap.
noticed it when i jacked it up in front to replace my calipers.
I know I need to look around and see where its coming from, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and the best way to fix it.

when i was wheeling noticed a gas smell a few weeks ago, guess thats where it was coming from duh

ok, maybe i was worried about nothing, jacked it up again and it didnt leak. is there a breather tube back there? dont remember having a full tank when i was up the mountain, but its full now, so maybe thats the deal? hopefully
anyone know

It's possible that your gas cap was loose or maybe the check valve that is inside it is hanging up. A properly functionoing cap allows air to enter the tank but nothing to come out. I had a raw fuel odor around the filler about a year ago. It would come and go. It ended up being the gas cap.

That would be, of course, a 77310-35080, list $13.76 ;)

And you DO want a real Toyota OEM gas cap. Aftermarket gas caps are variable in quality and some create problems. Don't ask me how I know. :p

No, I don't work at a dealer. :D

ill have to check my cap, maybe its not toyota.
hopefully thats all it is, looks like a p.i.t.a to get in there to look otherwise.

Sheez, for a plastic cap! :D

Why so cheap?
